The top two posts in the General category at the time of this posting were polls, so I posted this one as they seem so popular. 

Where's Shinichi vs. Kaito Kid?

And what about Akai vs Belmot? Why Akai vs Gin? Akai barely came across him in the anime, as far as I could remember... he he.

But, out of those choices, I chose Shinichi vs Heiji anyway, as that would be the greatest among those rivalries.

Actually you missed more than Kudo VS Kaitou. Sure enough their fathers were Rivals, but...
The biggest rivalry is goes like this - Fans of Conan VS Author of Manga.

Fans says - Akai is soooo cool!
Gosho says - Akai is dead!
Fans says - How could you?!
Gosho says - Okiya pops out!
Fans says - Akai is Okiya!
Gosho says - Hmmm....

And where's our fave lovey-dovey quarrels? I really like the Kogoro vs Eri, hehehe (and hoping for a scorching Ran vs Shiho too... meh, like that'll happen . Though there's an ongoing battle between Ran and the "imaginary blonde-haired woman", lol)

I would go for Akai VS Gin.  They both tried to kill each other unlike the rest lol.  I wonder why Akai didn't just kill Gin when he had the chance...?  Maybe Gin wouldn't suffer enough...or something.

I wouldn't say Heiji VS Shinichi is fair, Shinichi is the main character xD.  Plus Heiji practically acts like fanboy.

And what about these?
- Haibara Vs Gin
- Haibara Vs Vermouth (a rivalry without Ran's interruption )
- Conan Vs Gin
- Conan Vs The Boss (whoever it is..)

Anyway, I voted Akai Vs Gin.

Wow, there are a lot of you guys showing distaste with my choices for rivals.  To defend my choices, I would like to defend my choice of the word rival.  I argue that rival doesn't mean two individuals who occasionally argue.  It doesn't mean two individuals who occasionally showdown unequally matched.  The term rivalry refers to a fight for position of best or that position which Holmes describes as (paraphrasing), 'I would gladly die to rid society of you'. 
Kid vs. Shinichi - I concede this should have been an option as this is an opinion poll, even though I didn't think of them as rivals for one of the aforementioned reasons.
Conan vs. Gin - This would be a very one sided rivalry as Gin doesn't know of Conan's existance
Haibara vs. BO - One sided again, but for the opposite reason.  This is a more hunter vs hunted relationship.
Mitsuhiko vs. Genta - That is a really good one.  I really should have posted that.
Akai vs. Belmot - perhaps the wrong part of the forum?  Perhaps I just forgot about... Belmot did you say?

Ah, Belmot - Vermouth be her other alias, Sharon Vineyard be her true name, Chris Vineyard be her alternate identity. Akai Shuichi shot her in her ribs and broke them once, but I guess Akai's rivalry is held more against the entire organization rather than this individual member.

To me, there is no greater rivalry than that of Shiratori and Takagi. They'll come to punches some day. Count on it!

Conan/Shinichi vs Kid all the way  ;D
