Ai + Conan

Theres something going on with those two. Honestly, i would rather see conan with Ai at the end. Actually, nvm. Watching all the older episodes reminds me of why ran is special.

I wouldn't want to see this pairing Shinichi already is in love with Ran obviously and has shown no emotions like that towards Ai. I mean she could be his friend with benefits  but thats all I can see her as. haha

While I wouldn't mind the pairing, the only way this could convincingly happen is:

1) Ran dies
2) Ran finds out the truth and doesn't forgive Shinichi
3) Shinichi doesn't turn back and Ran moves on

One of those options is the only way he could pull it off.

I actually wouldn't mind having the end being Shinichi staying as Conan. I tire of sugar-coated endings. It wouldn't be a failed series.

Hehehe.. is it really that simple? I'd say in my opinion that the series could end with every characther, including the Detective Boys, dying, and I still wouldn't say this is a failed series.

You know why? Because I know just like we all do that have seen enough of the show, we can depend on Aoyama coming with the best. Even if my terrible horrible scenario were to take place, I'm sure there would be a good reason. Just like always.


Of course, my scenario would never happen. But I don't think it matters what happens from here on out.. but the way I'd like it to be? I'd like Goyama to have some huge donkey nuts and actually kill Ran off.. even though yeah she's always been the main chick I just don't think her and Shinichi have a good romantic connection, it's more a friend thing. Plus, Haibara LOVES Shinichi. She LOVES him. If either Shinichi could never return to his body, and grew up with Ai and married her, or he and Haibara return to their bodies, and be together.. either of those would make me very happy. I just don't really have a thing for Ran like everyone does.

Shinichi stays as conan and is with Ai-chan!

She just isn't meant for him. Ran is the girl who is angelic enough to wait for Shinichi for 12 years and stay devoted to him. They need to be together.

Haibara is just a nice friend, and that's it.

or... the ending no one expects ... ran some how ingests the drug when trying to help take down the BO and shrinks to conan's size..etc... happily ever after... hehe

This couple is a favorite of quite a few out there...

But I've mentioned before. While there is visible chemistry, it just means they get along very well (by their circumstances, most likely. Shinichi and Doc Agasa seem to be the ones who understand her best, right now)

Shinichi shows no romantic interest towards Haibara. While she may drop very light hints, if it's Haibara, she knows not to pursue him because it's pretty darn obvious he belongs with Ran.

The couple itself isn't entirely horrible, and a relationship isn't completely impossible. But again, such a relationship is only possible under nearly impossible circumstances. If Ran were to die, somehow I don't think Shinichi will move on.

Besides, if the aptx is obtained, Shinichi will most likely turn back, but Haibara won't (in all likeliness). She has found friends and a new family and clearly isn't very keen on returning to being Shiho.

Sorry, but I'm going to have to disagree with the Ran waiting for 12 years. She would have to be an idiot to do so... like or not. That's the only issue I take with Ran: that she just sits there and waits for Shinichi. Things would be much more interesting if she had another love interest competing with a Shinichi that hasn't really been there for her (at least, not personally -- we, the audience, see that he's been there but from Ran's POV he hasn't). Having her wait and think about him all the time makes her look weak, karate champion or not. Imagine having a viable love interest going after Ran in front of Conan (Eisuke didin't count). That would be a good story, Ran being conflicted about her feelings and Shinichi becoming even more desperate to turn back. In the end, they end up together.

Now, I could get behind Haibara and Shinichi/Conan if written well. But as I said before, Ran would have to die or give up on Shinichi in order to make it convincing IMO.

Maybe so, but to me her waiting and being shown as a little bit "weak" balances Ran out from her tough karate "don't-mess-with-me" side and makes her more of a well-rounded character. Plus, it allows some of her inner feelings and struggles to be shown to the audience. (Through her tears and scenes where she's calling out to Shinichi and such)

And I don't think having a separate guy going after after Ran would be beneficial to the show. That would make the show end up like a romance anime (like School Rumble) or soap opera rather than the mystery detective show that it is.

Oh, and Mitsuhiko and and Ai are pretty cute together, but we don't need any more couples on the show.

Since when was faithfulness "weak" anyway? It's not like Ran decided to wait obediently without a second thought just because Shin'ichi asked her. She wasn't very happy with the idea of waiting after Shin'ichi reverted to Conan at the restaurant, which was why Conan was so happy to see the, "I'll be waiting," on the cup Ran made. She's well aware she's making a sacrifice waiting and worrying about him when she should be having a more carefree youth, already dating.
