I think Yumi looks good too, but she can't attract men like Satou does, I hope she ends up with Shiratori and Satou with Takagi, happy ending for us all :D

After tricking half the male population of the Metropolitan Police Department into buying her expensive jewelry, it would be quite a while before Yumi finds someone.  ;D

It's more about the fact that she is a detective(higher ranking position) in a Department that is highly-majority male.(Besides traffic officers  :P ) Men love women who can do a man's job, and still be hot.  ;)

Actually from what I can gather Japanese guys in general are dead scared of woman who's position rank higher then theirs.

But then maybe all the ones I know are sissies ;D.

Well being the only woman in that rank will naturally make guys protective of her, not that she needs protecting ^^;.  My friend thinks she's popular because she's Tsundere...whatever that means.

Tsundere is a character (usually female but there are male examples) who is both tsuntsun (spiky, mean, cranky, aggressive) and deredere (lovestruck, spoony, tender) toward his/her object of affection or things that concern his/her object of affection.

Note, tsun and dere are pretty much antonyms of each other so said character more or less alternate between hot and cold, usually resulting in an emotional rollercoaster for the object of affection of the tsundere.

Ran is a Tsundere, and demonstrates the concept of Tsundere perfectly in an example by going from tsun to dere to tsun to dere and back to tsun within 5 pages. (In this case Conan/Shinichi isn't even around) ;D

Kazuha is also a Tsundere, albeit with sadistic tendencies.

Ai also shows Tsundere qualities toward Conan, however she keeps her dere side hidden, and only exposes her tsun side to Conan. Typical of Tsundere, she is cranky (or tsuntsun) almost exclusive to Conan or in one case to Agasa for unknowingly giving Conan her prototype antidote.

Unfortunately, Satou does NOT show many Tsundere qualities. Sure, she slapped Inspector Takagi (which may qualify for tsuntsun) when he disguised himself as Inspector Matsuda, however she had a reasonable cause for such a reaction, as opposed to a true Tsundere who pretty much goes from tsuntsun to deredere almost on a whim.

On the subject of Inspector Satou:
Has she figured out that Conan is the true force behind both Sleeping Kogoro and Deduction Queen Sonoko?
- Satou does not judge people by their appearances, pretty much from the beginning, she knows that Conan is not ordinary, Takagi does not make this conclusion until much, much later
- She has more faith in Conan than Takagi's skills
- Both Ai and Conan creep her out;D
- She readily helps Conan without asking too many questions during the James Black kidnapping case.
- When Satou first saw Sleeping Kogoro in action she immediately tried to determine whether he is truly sleeping. :D
- Later, when Satou saw Deduction Queen Sonoko during the Hammer Man Case she does NOT perform a similar experiment on Sonoko, but spent more time congratulating Conan instead of Sonoko after the case.

Wow!!, very very thorough explanation, I really enjoyed reading your post, I think she is close to figure out something about Conan, like you mention she didn't fall for the Sleepin Kogoro thing and Conan doesn't like doing it in front of her since then, if he was to do it again she would realize that he is actually sleeping, she also likes to "borrow" Conan when there's a case while all the other kids are set home by her.  ;D

She was pretty much knocked over when Shinichi and Heiji started their show in that last manga file. I don't think she knows that Shinichi is Conan, at least not yet.

Though if she goes home and thinks about it, they do have Conan's and Shinichi's fingerprints on file... it would be a simple matter for her to run a comparison on the two. If she did, I'm betting she wouldn't tell anyone, though, except maybe Conan.

She knows that Conan is brilliant, but I doubt she's accepting the possibility of him being a shrunken teenager. It's more likely that she just thinks he's an exceptional primary student, so the previous paragraph probably doesn't apply.

Well I wouldn't be surprised if Yusaku or someone else covered for Shinichi in those aspects.  Not to mention forging passports, etc...

But at least Conan thinks it's a risk to do the "Sleeping Kogoro" act in front of her, so even though she doesn't know, he doesn't want to push his luck either  ;D
