Old Conan vs. New Conan

After finding myself watching the older episodes (pretty much the ones currently dubbed) I find that these eps have a vibe to them not found in the newer eps (I would say about 300 on). I was thinking that in overall quality (plot, characters, motive, etc) the older eps are better than the new ones. Of course all episodes are great to me, and also I'm not counting plot advancement. Anyone agree? disagree?
Elaborate.

I think the quality of the cases may hav gone down, i already knew how that guy in the car died b4 654 came out. But you have to give Gosho some credit, thinking over 200 cases and each has to be different from the other is not that easy.

The earlier episodes deviated a lot from the manga, the later episodes do not.
Also, the earlier episodes have significantly more "anime original" episodes. (i.e. not based on the manga)
In the first ~250 episodes, the ratio of "anime original" episodes:manga-based episodes is approximately 1:1.
In the latter ~250 episodes, the ratio of "anime original" episodes:manga-based episodes is approximately 1:2.
The "anime original" have very little (more like nothing) to do with the plot and are merely fillers, so essentially the newer episodes have less filling than the older episodes. Your feeling of the loss of "vibe" may be because of this.
Of course, this all depends on one's view of the "anime original" material; I for one don't have a high opinion of them. (Most of them are too "slapstick" for my taste)

I think the older episodes have a classic anime look that you can't get now, even the character have chance their aspect, but don't take me wrong I still like the newer episodes, except for Takagi, I love the Character, but his looks have changed a lot ^_^
