If Shinichi had at least half as much charm as Kaitou Kid (hinting at movie 8), Shinichi and Ran would probably be married already lol

So far from what I've seen it's hard to go against Movie 2.
I know most of you will disagree with me on it, but I felt it had all the elements of a Gosho mystery.

I'm not really looking for a mystery story so much in the movies as a decent (but believable) action story. The big screen is for explosions

.
That said, I rate the movies in this order: 5, 3, 4, 1, 2, 6, 8, 9, 7, 10, 11

I thought the 2nd film had a good amount of explosions toward the end, actually.
Then again, I haven't had the chance to watch anything past Movie 2 as of yet.

Not sure what happened, but the volume in Movie 7 & 8 are both low for some reason. Using my normal volume setting, there is no sound at all.
Anyway, one minor issue I had with Movie 8 was they started the 2nd-to-last song way too soon. Usually, that song would be played during the most dramatic scene. In Movie 8 when that musical selection was played, I thought the credits were rolling & the completion was a given.

Except at the end the action got a bit ridiculous. And it was far too obvious what would happen at the climax. Nonetheless, it was still a solid mystery.

You need to download a codec, I don't remember which one offhand though.

I like the Movie 4 the most. The story was done very good. I also liked Movie 2 because it has the original mystery feel to the story just like the style of early Gosho Aoyama. The case wasn't as complex as today's version.

My favorite would be Movie 6. I liked the concept behind it, and even though the mystery behind it was a bit simple, it still ended nicely with a moral for kids to bring out of it.

I'd say five is my favorite as well.
I liked seven much better the second time I watched it. It's kind of a departure from the previous movies. The climax was on a much smaller scale, there were no huge explosions or hundreds of lives at stake like in a lot of the other movies. Also, Hattori Heiji was pretty much the main character.
Ten started out promising but kind of fell apart. The mystery wasn't very good and there was too much focus on making sure all the character got their cameos. I did like how they let Sonoko just sit there as their bracelets were about to explode.
