Does Shiranpuri really sounds like sit down please?? I think if it was Shiranpuris It would be more like it, but then again I don't know if Shiranpuris is really a word like shiranpuri. (Watch ep 503 for reference about this)

I did not recognize it as "sit down, please" when I heard it, but I am not an English speaker living in Japan like they are, where they hear Engrish a lot.  From what I understand from the scene, "shiranpuri" means "play innocent" in Japanese, which is what makes the "spell" work.  The English speakers are standing in front of chairs, so they recognized it as "sit down, please" rather than "play innocent."

If they really wanted to make it sound like "sit down, please," it should be something like "shitanpuris," but then it would lose its double meaning.

Then again, I suck at understanding Engrish, so I would probably hear that as "**** on police." 

Well, it does sound somewhat like "sit down, please" and they did bother to note that everyone was standing in front of chairs.  Plus Megure's annyoing way of speaking.

shiranpuri = feign ignorance or "appear to not know" being made up of the words shira+n = don't know and furi = pretence.

"shiranpuris" wouldn't be a Japanese word as it ends in 's'.

Ah, a note to make would be that in comparison to anime, Japanese is spoken faster.

So for foreigners to mistaken sounds is quite normal.

Maybe i'm wrong but isn't a word Shiranpuri made like this (saying obvious didn't i?) =>
Shi = Sit (losing T, as they do, and making Shi out of Si.)
Ran = Down (swaping D with R, merging OW into A)
Puri = Please (swallowing a whole word.)

Or maybe it's cuz Megure don't know english very well =)

Actually, the way "Shiranpuri" can be heard as "Sit down please" is what member Rio Nagava posted. I've tried this myself several times and I've drawn the same conclusions as Mr. Rio Nagava

Shi = Sit
Ran = Down
Puri = Please

Just to try to speak it aloud several times a day and you'll realize it. That's how I discovered it.

I just rewatched the espisode and I think that the fact that they put the chairs there might have done the trick too 

I study Japanese and I can confirm.
"Shiranpuri" is "Sit down please" when said by Japaneses.

English words pronounced by Japanese sound very funny.
For example, do you know Ouran Host Club?
Well, in Japanese is "Ooran Hosuto Kurabu".

keki = cake
coohii = coffee
kisu = kiss
hoteru = hotel

Even if a Japanese in Japan knows English and he/she talks to you, you will probably have difficulties to understand because the 'Japanization' of their English.

So, all that to say that "Shiranpuri" IS "Sit down please".

I'm from Argentina, so obviously I'm not a native speaker, and I understood it perfectly, so it doesn't work
