Do we ever know for sure? It's clear he considers Conan to be super smart in the manga, but is he just accepting that Conan's a smart kid...or does he know about Shinichi?

I'm watching movie 8 right now, and it seems like he knows b/c of the smirk on his face when Conan's screaming that he's not Shinichi. And in movie 3, he comes back as Shinichi to save Conan from revealing the truth. But since the movies aren't considered canon...

Just curious! What do ya'll think?

Only in the movies does Kaito Kid know. In the anime and the manga, Kid doesn't seem to know Conan's identity. It was in movie three in the film continuity where Kid figured Shinichi's identity out. There is more discussion about this topic on various pages in the Kaito Kid subforum.

Do you think it's fair Kaito knows who Conan is but not vice versa?

As Chekhov said, Kid doesn't know Conan's identity. IMO, he really doesn't care about his identity,although he considers Conan an unnormal kid, just like Takagi.

Oi oi, you can't blame people for being curious. If people didn't feel the need to ask them, there wouldn't be three threads that talk about topics similar to this question already. Don't bite the newbies.

Thanks everyone! Makes me kind of sad that Kid only knows in movie-canon. They'd make quite the unstoppable duo if they teamed up together.

As for why I ask...it's b/c I don't know, and I'm not familiar enough with the manga and anime to just pick the random episodes that feature Kid to check. So I trust people here to educate me!

lol Kaito Kid could care less about a snot-nose detective. He's too graceful of a thief.
