http://fast.animenewsnetwork.com/bbs/ph ... 2010-01-07 (check around 40:00 when they start to ask questions from the audience, the case closed info is connected to the big windup question)

This is directed to all R1 conan FANS, note the majority of this speech is not aimed at people who have bought the releases.

DUB AND SUBS of conan WILL STOP IF SEASONS 1-5 DO NOT GET MORE SALES. Now say whatever you want to about the dub, HOWEVER IF THE DUB STOPS THEN SO WILL THE SUBS. The season sets DO NOT cost much $18.00 for 26 episodes is CHEAP. If everyone who just bought the third and fourth movies would BUY THE SEASON SETS, then according to funimation the series would be selling good enough to warrant more SEASONS. Guess what the picture quality on the DVDS are MUCH CLEARER then the old anime-conan fan-subs. rightstuff.com is having a HUGE 40% of sale on all funimation products BUY THE FREAKING DVDS. here I will help you. the code is scythe, good till the 18th

Season 1 $19 http://www.rightstuf.com/cgi-bin/catalo ... 0000/4/0/0 (PLEASE MAKE THIS Sell OUT QUICKLY there are only 6 of them) and
http://www.rightstuf.com/cgi-bin/catalo ... 3416/4/0/0

season 2 $19 http://www.rightstuf.com/cgi-bin/catalo ... 4214/4/0/0

Season 3 $18 http://www.rightstuf.com/cgi-bin/catalo ... 4593/4/0/0

Season 4 $18 http://www.rightstuf.com/cgi-bin/catalo ... 6128/4/0/0 (Very Nice box art)

Season 5 $18 http://www.rightstuf.com/cgi-bin/catalo ... 6129/4/0/0

Movies 1&2 $12 http://www.rightstuf.com/cgi-bin/catalo ... 0863/4/0/0

Movie 3 $12 http://www.rightstuf.com/cgi-bin/catalo ... 5168/4/0/0

Movie 4 $12  http://www.rightstuf.com/cgi-bin/catalo ... 5169/4/0/0

Movie 5 $12 http://www.rightstuf.com/cgi-bin/catalo ... 5386/4/0/0

Movie 6 $12 http://www.rightstuf.com/cgi-bin/catalo ... 5841/4/0/0 (the best movie of them all)

you can get 123 episodes of detective conan and the first 6 movies for $152, that is assuming you have never purchased anything from funimation before. most of you have and  I am VERY grateful to you for being a true fan and not having a stick up your BEEP about the lack of conan hints (which lets face it are most time A)  useless or B) give away the murderer). and for those who refuse to buy it because of the missing epilogue in the Naniwa Serial Murder Case (license to murder) I will take a 98% well done subtitle with a poorly done fan sub (according to the pdf not me) of the missing part to supplement it, over only the poorly done fan-sub ANYDAY. I am not telling you to love the dub, I am ask you to love the show and give it the respect it should be given. also if funimation does do a season six then we will get two, new two part mysteries that actavus will not get to any time soon. so please people support the region one  licenses of detective conan. the subs are just as good as the fans subs, and actually support the show (because funimation has to pay to get the rights for detective conan). thank you for your time and PLEASE BUY the sets if you have not yet

THANK YOU, and the sale last to the 18th I think, I will change my original post to include that, and KK shame on you for choosing one piece which streams on line both subbed, dubbed, simulcasted, and was just confirmed in that podcast to be selling great. over conan, which NEEDS MONEY TO Survive, and you get 4 times as many episodes for your money. and DBZ's dragon boxs which are only $72 for both sets, and hardly needs the money from it's 10th release, to keep going since there is nothing to dub. you could at least buy season 5 which is might be some new stuff, or that you actually have not seen in decent quality enjoy detective Konan though kk.

I'm so going to get chewed out big time if I buy seasons 4 and 5.  I've been supporting the season sets here and there for a while now, but buying two at once without having a job is going to be a huge hit.  :-\

Just a slight correction with the pricing.

The 40% off is from the MSRP, not the discounted prices that Rightstuf gives.  This means that the Viridian boxsets for Season 1 and 2 are $21 each.

The prices for the Dragon Boxes were lowered to $60. I supposed that not as many people bought the first set, so they lowered the price of that and future installments of it.

And they said that One Piece was doing good, as in not bad, but not excellent. It does mean that, as they said in the podcast, they won't be dropping their support of One Piece, but that it still isn't performing as well as it would if it was on TV, like they tried to make happen.

But besides all of that up there^, after I listened to the ANN Podcast with FUNi, I almost came here and posted the exact same thing Tantei posted. Support is what they need!

Also, for those curious, they said the movies were performing pretty well, compared to how the series wasn't...

Well, I broke down and bought the two seasons I don't have.  I should get some more loan money this semester anyway.  Now all I need is the money for movies 5 and 6 and I'll have everything released.  One correction to get the discount: the code is scythe not sythe.

I'll stick with DCTP sub, they're the best and they did it for free :D
Spoiler:
Now that i think about it, why would i be bothered with this .. ?

Funimation are not the one who holds the distribution and airing license in my country *lol* Thus should not be my concern...

And F.Y.I, i still brought all the newly released volume of DC in my country

I think the best dub was in Israel...cause it never existed

I'm not going to buy something in order to "support" a show. if I don't want to watch the dub, then why should I buy it? It's a waste of money. I'm not going to ask people to buy my book when it gets published in order to "supprot" it, but in order to read it and enjoy it.

agreed. no Conan in Israel, so the best I can do for Conan is cheer for the fansubbers. DCTP, YOU ARE GREAT AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR FREE GREAT SUBS!

WE HAVE DCTP AND OTHER GROUPS, WHY ARE YOU WORRIED ABOUT THE SUBS? (the caps don't imply that I'm shouting, just mimicking you)

This statement goes probably to only the americans in this forum (half? probably less...). And I think you are confuzing between "true Conan fan" to "true funanimation fan". In Japan there are many Conan fans, but they wouldn't buy these releases, right?  :P

I've tried to avoid watching other Funi licensed anime unless it is on their youtube channel where they can actually get money from it y'know.  :(

@pakur do you see anime-conan fan subs with DVD raws NO you do not.

@kor I said at the begining that this was aimed at Region 1!!! fans not region 2! like japan or isreal for that matter, and if someone read a book you published cover to cover at the bookstore then you should get paid for that person for the book, you read it and you like it enough to go to the end then you should probably pay the author for the book (this is why I stick anime that will never get licensed, so I don't  have to keep explaining this), DCTP is great and I am loving 217-218, however once and if funimation hits that mark then you buy there version of it like the fan subs always ask you to. also DCTP is never going to sub anymore of the 100 episodes I think. I am worried about subs because I want TO OWN the dvds because they can be played on a TV very easily and I can loan people easily. also yes I like the dub, but also I want to support the industry rather then just take whatever I want from it . And kor many parts of my speech where caps because some of you don't seem to get the point unless I act like glen beck, and then your stereotyping of show does not allow you to see the problem. also don't take peoples quotes out of context, mis-quote them by forgetting the correct way to quote them.

@baka once again this was meant for region 1 but I am happy you buy/bought the conan stuff that does come out and you support the series thus increasing the shows budget and thus better animation and other things that come with increased budgets

@DarkWolfYoukai thank you very much and I will make the correction very soon

@kkslider I understand what you mean perfectly, but the funimation video player is not nearly as bad as it used to be, and is usable again, so you can watch one piece on there just like on their channel

@sakina THANK YOU

@gamer I was talking about both box sets, $60 40% off then times two is $72

I'd buy them at FYE, but they are $50 each.. for season boxsets. Dunno about Amazon though. I think they are 38 or something. That's a lot for me. I am already buying 3,4,5,6 movies...
