it hasn't occur to me in over half a year, but it just came up again. Does anyone think that the short, one-chapter story of Kogoro running away from the kids demanding cash red envolopes for new year will ever make it to the anime? Maybe as a short holiday clip? An attachment to an episode? Or maybe never?

I really wish it would.  They could have so much fun fleshing it out to fill an episode, and it'd still be better than most AO.  Unfortunately, I doubt they will.

oh yeah, the one where Kogoro ending up treating everyone to ice cream, although his reason for disguise was unclear in the beginning...

which chapter is this? I wanna read it badly.  From what you've said, it's somewhat similar to the opening animation of Ichibyou goto ni Love for You.

That reminds me...the first case from volume 12 didn't make it into the anime until a long time AFTER Ai was introduced...

Agasa's first love case was right before the last few cases before 345 in the manga but in the anime was right before 425.

Are there any other files that were put in later in the anime like these two?

I recall a few of them: Metropolitan Police Love Story 5 (Satou and Takagi's date in the amusement park) was in volume 40 in the manga, before the Conan-Vermouth clash, but in the anime it was adapted afterwards (episodes 358-359). The Metropolitan Police Love Story 6 was delayed a little as well (too they wouldn't be so close, I guess). Also the two cases with Heiji in volumes 43/44 (Which One's Reasoning Show? and Full House Unseen Summer Devil) were adapted later in the anime (as episodes 381-382 and 383 special), even after volumes 45/46 cases.

I don't follow the anime nowadays, I just watched a bunch of episodes in the past, so there should be some more differences.

the awful "LET'S MAKE HEIJI AND SHINICHI TOO SIMILAR AND THEREFORE LESS INTERESTING CHARACTERS (WHILE ALSO HAVING THEM IN THE SAME PLACE AT THE SAME TIME IN THE PAST FOR NO REASON)" case was right before Clash of Red and Black in the anime but in the manga it was around volume 50.
