hay this time conan has gone retro, and like some of the vardin collection box arts it turned out well. still no speaking parts for AI-chan
However some people have seen movie three via comcast on demand and have said that her two names are Anita Hailey and sheila Monroe

i HATE those english names.... seriously "sheila monroe" doesn't fit to shiho miyano....i prefer japanese names... i still don't know why they have to change names(in the french anime,they keep the same names,same thing for the arabic anime)

They can butcher the names all they want if they continue to release season dvds that have subs

I'm glad Gin sounds less terrible than in episode 1.

Sheila Monroe? Sheila's a bit better than some of the crap names they tend to give out, yeah, but still... I dunno, I've never liked the english names or understood why they felt the need to change them. I mean, seriously, this is in JAPAN. Why would everyone have western names?

because company in Japan involved with the Conan anime decided that in order to have it appeal to a western audience. Considering how almost every popular dub in that past did that, I can see why they decided to do that I suppose. (and I would think that the popularity of Naruto (which wasn't dubbed until after Case Closed was cancelled) has at least SOMETHING to do with people not wanting to have Americanized names for anime dubs anymore maybe?)

Also, since that was how it was started, it keeps a bit of consistency. At least they went with something that sounds rather similar. Still want a voice clip, however. :p

I was showing this to Jd yesterday.  They really aren't pulling any punches with this one, are they?  Flat out calling it the Twin Towers building and all.

If you think these names are bad...look at the Spanish dub! Bobby Jackson is Shinichi!!
So I think you should appreciate the English dub a little more.
