It's pretty good, though

I did not really like Oguri Shun acting Shinichi;

I do think that the second one was better><
I loved the last scene where Conan and Ran chan looked at the moon//ã…‚//
Though Gin, he was totally a grandpa; ㅜㅠㅜㅠ
I really wanted Gin with charisma

Shiho was pretty, too.

Ran looks 50cm shorter than Shinichi, I wonder why,
Shinichi is 174 and Ran is 160 in Anime;

The first one was so so; the second one was better.

Though I think they focused more on getting the actors look like the Anime characters (which didn't work that well) than on getting the right actors with better acting skills. However, I still think they were okay and some were really good:

- Oguri Shun (Shinichi): Good actor but doesn't look like Shinichi AT ALL (different haircut).
- Kurokawa Tomoka (Ran): I liked her better in the second movie, she acted well in that elevator scene.
- Jinnai Takanori (Kogoro): Awesome! ^^ I agree that he would have done a better job as the new VA for Kogoro.
- Kashii Yu (Shiho): Great actress! Pretty, mysterious, deep; she actually could represent Shiho's personality very well. The haircut was ok but they could've done better. Yet she's still my favorite along with the actor who did Kogoro.
- Iwasa Mayuko (Sonoko): She's pretty, but I think she was too calm and "quiet" for Sonoko. Ran's role suits her better!
- Sasaki Kuranosuke (Gin): The hair made him look too old. lol But I think he acted well and I loved his eyes! XD
- Ibu Masato (Megure): I liked how he imitated Megure's way of talking.
- Tayama Ryosei (Agasa): Funny disguise! The actor looks so different in real life! ^^

The kids who played Conan and Ai were okay too, especially the girl.

I watched both the dramas today—the last subbed Detective Conan that I hadn't seen yet.

I wonder if we'll ever see a "real" Conan drama, where the drama is actually about Conan as Conan, rather than prequel-Shinichi or temporary-reversion Shinichi. I doubt it. I mean, let's be honest, it was excruciatingly transparent that they immediately gave the kids antidote-cake just so they wouldn't have to rely on the children's acting skills any more than they absolutely had to. (And there's also the fact that they pretty obviously dubbed the kids' dialogue with the anime VAs. :P )

Sounds like it's lulz-worthy fun. Watch me be weird and really enjoy it.

Well, apart from the eye-rolling obviousness of the blatant "make Shinichi the protagonist" strategy, they actually were pretty good. And the second one did explore what it might be like if Ran caught Shinchi with the adult Haibara, which the anime had never gotten around to doing. And the mystery elements were handled well, too.

I just find it amusingly ironic that the live-action "Detective Conan" is much more Shinichi than it is Conan. :)

Me too. He was too serious to be Shinichi. But I heard G. Aoyama had picked him for the role. I liked the second one better. 'Coz BO's there.

I really HOPED that they would make another Live Drama but Shun Oguri said he won't be acting anymore.

Of course she is, i don't think that anyone could've played as Shiho any better than she is (Physically or personality)..

But of course, there is still a lot room for improvement.. I'm really hoping she'd be back for the 3rd drama (if they really going to make it)

Yup, i only watch the first Drama out of curiosity.. In which i regret it, the story was so-so, and their acting were still below average..

But the story writer really made an improvement with the 2nd drama, like you said " It did explore what it might be like if Ran caught Shinchi with the adult Haibara ", in which the Anime.. no, even the Manga failed to do (or might even won't ever happen)
