Old/New Detective Yamamura

There have been a number of old/new character threads looking at how the art has changed over the years. Here's one for the newly promoted Inspector Yamamura. Which do you like better? (Personally, I like the new one better)
Detective Yamamura (Old):
Conan's comment: "daijoubu ka, kono keiji?"
Inspector Yamamura (New):
Conan's comment: "daijoubu ka, Gunma kenkei?"

I like the new art better, but I really don't think Yamamura deserves the promotion he got... (I agree with Conan-kun, are the Gunma prefectural police OK? I mean, promoting this guy??) Why is Yamamura now a keibu, but Takagi and Satou and Chiba are all still keiji? I can see why Shiratori got promoted, but this guy? No way! He had to be a rookie when we first met him (some few months before this if you go by the "actual timeline" of the series) and yet now he's a keibu. Takagi has been on the force for at least a year, and Satou for at least 3 years, yet both of them are still keiji. How come they don't get a promotion??

it's called irony. In this case, humorous irony.
I much prefer the new art (this is one of the few times where the character looks best with the latest art style, since he seems to really look like a child in an adult's body)

New Yamamura is more likable.
Also, Satou and Takagi are with the Metro Police, which is different than the Prefectural Police. It's harder to rise up in the ranks in the Metro Police vs. the Prefectural Police, even if you have the experience and abilities. I bet Shiratori's promotion had something to do with his family's ties. That, and/or Kid-as-him nabbing Scorpion.

Gunma doesn't have that many police, and some keibu got shot and died
This guy is the next in line considering how he did solved number of cases (though it was Conan, he got the credit)

First time I saw the old shots. Anyway, with his attitude and that sharp, long face, those are just so contrasting. His new.. look is rounder, childish. Fits his attitude more, don't you think?
