Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that Shinichi is far more compatible with Shiho than he is with ran? Shinichi and Shiho are compatible on a physical level as they are physically attractive to the opposite gender (well maybe Shiho would be if she tried to be like her sister) and they are compatible on a mental level since Shiho is the only female Shinichi is able to confide in because of her intelligence and maturity, meanwhile Ran is superior to Shinichi on a physical level because she could kick his butt any time she wanted (karate is vastly superior to soccer) and there's no need to even mention the difference between Shinichi and Ran on a mental level because... Ran is just stupid.

About twenty threads in DCTP have this fight raging on. Even if the title is completely unrelated.

Being the same and being compatible are two totally different things.  Actually, it's more often that people with different strengths get together because their strengths complement each other, and thus the couple is stronger together than each individual would be alone.  Also, by having different strengths, each person in a couple can take the lead in the area of their strength, and let their partner cover their weakness.  If you have two people who are strong in the same area, there ends up being a tug of war when it comes to that area, and they would both have the same weaknesses that neither would be able to cover.

Seriously, though.  It's unfair to compare Ran to Shinichi or even Shiho.  Just because someone isn't a world-class detective or a cutting edge scientist doesn't make that person stupid.

Well Chaosangel21 is a relatively new member therefore starting a new couple thread is normal (and excusable).  Don't get angry, I'm sure you other romance loving weirdos members made a couple thread/ argued on a couple thread when you first joined the forum too.  It's a trend in all anime forums.  As for insulting character people don't like, that's human nature.  I just learn to ignore it unless the person is fun to argue with.

Ran is obviously best with Shiho and Shinichi is obviously best with a leather bound copy of The Sign Of Four (you fanfic readers should know where this is from xD).

Hey, Ran ain't stupid now! she's just....not as smart as the great houdini shinichi! And certainly not skilled in making poisonous drugs like Shiho.....

Actually I think having many things in common makes the relationship stronger don't you think? There needs to be a balance of likes and dislikes. The person can't agree with you with everything, but people are attracted to others of common ground.....and feel measures of understanding for one another, even when they disagree. BALANCE is good.

Ran....the only thing she has in common with Shinichi is they've known each other a long time. They both like.....wait, do they have anything in common thinking....thinking....thinking...oh, well, it's shonen. As long as they have some occasional naked and body showing scenes, the main character is basically sold. I think they just both admire each other. They're number one fans of each other.....so that's good.

But I think ShihoxShinichi are like a real, mature relationship (I'm not saying couple, but whatever you take it). They have a lot in common (soccor, intellect, BO mess.....), but they aren't connected at the hip in ideas about life and can learn from each other....

yes, the outcome she might win, but the fans will always battle it out. Ran won't win over all the fans, that's for sure!

Too many people are starting to disagree with that pairing....hmmm...something is afoot! A new generation *sighs.* Hey, this generation likes dark, mysterious types.....look at the movies popular today. And then the rise in horror and sci-fi mangas and animes.....it's getting out of hand...

Though I'm guilty because I love my Ai to death. But I never made a couple thread. I just like to look at the hole issue and give long explanations on facts that I analyze throughout the story.....

Thanks Ranger.....I needed to see a mirror of myself.....stating the obvious on me? I thought we were pals? Naw, but you're right. I am a lot like Shinichi, geez, even the know-it-all part. I need to get myself in check!  I am the stereotypical Taurus, always trying to be the "righteous good-guy", and talk too much about how much I know everything. It's a bad habit of mine. I can't help but pay attention to details and think logically! 

I tell you what, they need to stop making these tempting boards so I won't answer with responses....who am I kidding. Another noob might come next week and make the same thread! LOL

Well, excusable as it is, isn't it obvious that in every DC forum there'll always be couple threads?
That's what I thought when I became a member.

XD I wonder how many threads like this are created.... Kind of harsh and unfair calling Ran stupid, though. For me anyway, I like Ran and Shinichi pairing. I think their relationship is balanced.

About Shiho and Shinchi pairing, I see their relationship more like partners (like Holmes and Watson) for me anyway.

That's why I read shonen mangas more (not the harem ones....it's annoying....) than shojo manga. Relationships are not as complicated as shojo ones.
