Episode 545 Discussion Thread

Post by kkslider5552000 »

EVERLASTING SPELLING MISTAKE SHALL LIVE FOREVER!!! (and by forever I mean it's gone after the next episode)

Also, Kogoro thinking the screeching tires were Ran screaming was funny.

I've think I've figured out a part of the mystery (well not how it happened exactly but I know what it was). But I'm not telling you since that might be spoilers and you all know how I feel about that.

i enjoyed the episode :)

I thought it was kinda funny that Kogoro tells Conan to focus more on schoolwork instead of watching TV all day...

also, like someone said in the 545 release thread, Ran seemed kinda suspcious of Conan...is there another story arc a la episodes 398-400 in the works??

maybe. If it is, then I think it almost has to lead to Ran finally figuring it out since this is the 5TH time she has thought Conan was Shinichi.

Also, I like how despite basically being the inspector character for the Gunma cases, it took Yamamura this long to actually be an inspector. And now he has an ego because of it. Tremendous.

Unfortunately, there is no suspicion arc on the horizon as yet (up through current manga chapter). That would be nice, though.

Yay for many people with crazy driving skillz, though. *^_^*
I have finally started to actually publish my story! For the moment, expect a new chapter each month.

The Case of the Midnight Channel
"When a strange letter summons the Mouri family to Inaba, Ran is expecting a case. She's not expecting it to involve the TV, though.
If Naoto investigated everyone who came to visit Inaba, she'd have little time for real cases. When Yukiko reports that the Midnight Channel is back, however, she starts to wonder if the visitors are connected. Especially when the image clears, unveiling yet another mystery."

Short version: I'm taking various DC/MK characters to Inaba (where Persona 4 takes place) and dropping them through the TV to face their Shadows!

My deductions  :D
Spoiler:
The trick that the witch used to appear in the fog, waving her arm is really simple... when the grandma got out of the car, there was another car, with the lights on, in her back, so she saw the reflection of her own shadow as the "god" figure, and also the grandma and the witch wave their arms at the same time, so the trick to do that must be with the lights of a car behind grandma´s car (maybe a second car, or grandma´s own car!)

the rest is still unknow to me  :P

It didn't take him "this long" - it took him "this short!"

When we first meet him, he's the untrained detective sent out only because everyone else in the office is sick.  He'd never even seen a dead body before!  Talk about your super rookie cop.

Now, only months later, he's an inspector.  To compare, Takagi and Satou are still just detectives.  ((Of course, it's different because Takagi and Satou are with the Metro Police vs the Prefectural Police.))  However, he is the youngest and least experienced out of all the other prefectural detectives/inspectors we've met so far.  Correct me if I'm wrong, of course.

In the manga, Yamamura is still a detective (keiji). The reason why he is an inspector (keibu) in the anime has to do with something that is considered spoilers at this point... (Note: despoilered for easier searching as this movie is out.)
In the raven chaser, Yamamura gets promoted.
I would say the spoiler isn't very high on the spoilerific scale in case you are wondering and deciding whether to click or not. It doesn't significantly affect the plot of the item being spoiled.

Yeah, Jd and I were talking about that during QC.  It came off much better in the manga where it was just "kyaaa".

Also, yes this case is relatively easy to figure out the culprit.  I remember figuring it out by this point in the case for the manga.

@Chekhov MacGuffin:

Ah I see now. Thanks for the info. I was wondering why that scene was put into the anime & never appeared in the manga. Maybe Gosho makes another Gunma case so he'll introduce him as a keibu now.

I really like Yamamura, he is one my favourite policemembers.

Ah, thanks.  I was wondering about the difference and never expected that to have a relevance to the anime.

I really like how I can't think of another manga case similar to it at all. Hell, the suspects are in pairs!  :DDD

Spoiler:
^_^.... it's like so obvious who was the culprit (In the manga too, when I read it, the answer screamed at you... I guess that's why culprit in pairs driving cars is an easier type.... )yet I do enjoy this ep ^_^ because it has a good plot and it screams Conan is freaking exposing himself as Shinichi

I like him too despite the fact that every time shows up I want to knee his nose in for being a complete moron. I had a good laugh when Yamamura first saw the Mouris and said "It's been a while," while shaking side to side like a girl and the officers that were with him were like O_o'   Conan's, "Are the Gunma police going to be alright?" line was solid gold with platinum sprinkles.
