Thought I would first introduce myself, being this my first post and all so...

Hi there! I'm a new member
I watched the DC anime up to episode 219 and also the first 6 movies but never read the manga, by the way I kind of like Ai
Please disregard errors in my writing, I don't speak english as my primary language.

Now to get OT (also sorry if this is the wrong place to post!):
After making it to the 200+ episodes I noticed that a lot of episodes have not been translated by any fansub group, so I was wondering: has this been done since the fansubbers wanted to focus on the episodes involving the main storyline possibly due to the size of the series or because given said size they just choose the episodes they liked more?
See I'm asking this since I want to keep watching the anime but don't want to miss important episodes on the way

first of all,this link should be added to your favorites. It shows every episode that has been subbed and other useful info. http://www.dctp.ws/DC_Subbed_List.pdf

although almost every single really important episode is subbed, there are a few based off of the manga not yet subbed If you want to see these cases soon, you could just read the manga chapters that the missing episodes are based off of (another use of that awesome link) while continuing to go through the subbed cases in order. But don't do that for episodes 274 and 275 until you've gone to episode 288.

However, if you really just want to see the anime version and only the anime version, unfortunately, you will have to wait. If I had to take a guess (and I know I could be wrong) it will be at least a year before every manga case is subbed. My suggestion is to find other anime to watch, rewatch the first 219 episodes of Conan or both. If you do rewatch the series, I suggest just watching the manga based cases and episodes 6, 66, 128, 180, 181 and 184.

You see I've been a DC fan since some years ago an italian TV station (yes I'm italian) started airing it (even if with some censorship and the crappy voice acting - compared to the japanese) and since then I've managed to download some 90 GB of episodes, that's when I noticed the missing ones, so I started re-watching all of it till 206 (where I had left off) hoping the work would be completed (pretty much what you suggested ) and now I found some of those episodes were translated and was wondering if at least the main story was...

And so lately I've been filling the holes up from 206 with the new released ep. and the already aired italian ones found on youtube

well, that works too.

BTW: It might be a good idea to leave this forum after you read this so you can avoid spoilers. (and trust me, there are a lot of interesting story related things that happen later in the series)

One day, every episode will be subbed, but right now, the basic situation is that all of the primary story is subtitled. Meaning--if you watch only the episodes that are subtitled but still in order, you won't be missing out on anything.

actually, the Forgotten Memento from the Crime is kinda important. But I'm pretty sure the important part is explained again a few episodes later so ok!

What's this forgotten memento thing? should I look for it?

Anyway I had a question, maybe a stupid one but... is Detective Conan still ongoing (the anime)?
Also if somebody could tell me when to watch the movies (like: watch the first after ep. xxx) - I don't want to spoil the fun, but I also want to watch them

It's still ongoing.  As for the movies, just watch 1 and 2 before episode 128 and 3+ at any time after 129.  That's the only truly important placement marker.

1. Forgotten Momento is a case you'll see soon enough as long as you go in order. Again, this list will help. http://www.dctp.ws/DC_Subbed_List.pdf
And again, reading the manga (or watching the italian episodes that you have mentioned) for the cases based off of the manga that haven't been subbed yet is a good idea (except for 274 and 275 which you should see after the New York case).

2. Yes Conan is still ongoing in the anime.

3. First of all, from what I've heard and seen, you'll probably not enjoy more than half of the movies after 6 (and no one likes 11) since everyone else does. While they were released after certain episodes (and I believe JD wrote that down somewhere), from what I understand, you won't be spoiled by anything at all in the later movies.

regarding the movies, when I was watching DC, what I did was open up the DC wiki page of all the episodes and their release dates, and I corresponded it to the release dates of the movies.  Most of the movies always release during Aprilish of each year, so you just fill in the gaps :p.
