When we finally get to the very last showdown with the BO, it's obvious, that Conan, Ran, Ai, and the FBi will all have a major role in the final battler, but for the rest of the characters, I'm not sure how big their involvement will be.

My speculations:
The Detective Boys-a big part, but will probably just be in danger for most of the arc.
Kogoro-Maybe a big part, I for some reason could see him beating one of the BO members somehow.
Heiji/Kazuha-Unsure, could have a big part, or no part at all.
Sonoko-I think she won't have a part.
Eri-Likewise.
Takagi, Sato, Shiatori-I'm sure they'll help in the final battle, but I don't know if they'll have any more character development.
Megure-Unsure about him.
Kobayashi-Perhaps, if Gosho develops the plot with her and Shiatori more, maybe she'll show up.
Yukiko Kudo-I could picture her having a showdown with Vermouth.

As for the BO boss, I'm suspicious of either Agasa or Yusaku.

for the detective boys, yeah they'll probably be in there, but I'm guessing they'll only be in there for the first few episodes of the arc, while things are still lighthearted and such. Once everything turns serious business though, I doubt they'll show up anymore.

all the police will probably pop in also, because if you're taking down the organization you need some people running around to do some muscle work. Super kicking shoes can only go so far, you know.

Heiji, maybe, but if he does it'll probably be like in (345?) where he basically just serves as a distraction, while conan's off doing the important things.

Yukiko, eh, maybe, but if anybody goes against Vermouth I'd think it would be Jodie.

-Agasa will invent some silly invention (inventions?) that will hope Conan (maybe a REALLY awesome version of his stun watch and soccerball belt? Or better yet, the giant handcuff thing Conan thought Agasa should make after Conan got beat up in episode 2. :DDDDDDDDD)
-Detective Boys will somehow help in something (maybe in a case (yes a case within the finale, I've thought of ideas that could make that work)). They'll mostly just be like "HUH?" because I expect that A LOT of people will have learned about Shinichi's identity right before the finale.
-Ran will wait at home worried. Or pull a 345 and sneak into the battlefield.
-Conan, Haibara, every FBI/CIA person and a decent amount of people with the police (I'll take a guess and say Takagi, Sato, Megure and some other inspector (the furinkazan one?) along with regular police officers. MAYBE Heiji too. All to go against the BO at their HQ for the finale. I hope there are lots of generic FBI/BO people involved to make the battle more epic.
-With probably the exception of 1 or 2 others (not including anyone that might be revealed to be in the FBI/CIA/BO), everyone else will be waiting for it to be over or trying to find somewhere safe (if for some reason finding somewhere safe is necessary).
-I wouldn't be surprised if someone was kidnapped. Almost guaranteed that it would be Ran, Haibara, Eri, Kazuha or Sato (although only the first two would make any sense right now).
-Although I don't think it would happen, the idea of Kogoro beating someone in the BO by Judo throwing them to death sounds ridiculously awesome. He would then laugh, say he won because he is the Great Detective Mouri Kogoro, and then get some beer and watch some Yoko-chan show or music or whatever. All while the battle is still going on. :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
-I hope someone solves a silly case that has nothing to do with the finale in the meanwhile. Like Azusa finds someone who was kidnapped. Just for kicks and giggles.

Yeah, the idea of Kogoro just doing incredibly awesome sounds really sweet.  Like I bet he's the one to solve the big mystery, like the secret of the Black Organization. after like 600+ episodes of him playing the idiot, with the occasional bright moments (only when the case is regarding Eri though..), the sleeping kogoro shows his merit as a detective


I actually think Kogoro is a very good detective and police officer, he just like doesn't care enough or have the sense of justice/ and I guess overall smarts in background knowledge...

I mean when he cares, he solves a lot of things, like the Kogoro school reunion, basically any case that has to do with Eri thats my two cents, tell me what you think (bash the crap out of me or consider me as a god)

I was more hoping that conan would be sort of proud of Kogoro, like "finally, he's gotten the hang out of it" or cheering him on, allowing Conan to do some other vital part of his mission...

or, you need to host it somewhere reliable like photopucket/imageshack instead of tripod

it's been like that for me off and on for a few days now as well, someone else also commented on it somewhere else I think

-The detective boys will initially be involved in this.. but as conan notices the danger they are in, he tells them the truth about him being shinichi, and begs them  to run away and not to tell anyone!

-If we are rly speaking about the FINAL showdown, then kogoro will be a big help for conan, after knowing he is shinichi he would firstly start freaking out but after some minutes of action, he will go save his life somehow, and say some sentimental words to him, about ran loving him, and how he should protect her if he dies or something .

-Haibara won't initially take place in the action, but will come afterwards.

-The officers probably won't be involved so much..But Maybe sato + takagi will be entrusted with the secret

-As for shuichi, he will play a DAMN BIG ROLE IN THE END! helping conan to track and get rid of the BO.

-Conan will not tell Ran that he's shinichi i guess.. she will find out from Kogoro, and will rush to him as she hears that he is in danger.. then again some sentimental shit, he tells her he loves her, she also. Then he tranquilizes her, puts her in sato's car or something :p and bring her back home

The FINAL is probably going to involve everyone.... I'm not sure how though I'd like to see lots of explosions ^_^
