...about these numbers which sometimes appear in fanart.
Shinichi is often drawn with a 910 in the background, Kaito has another 900+something number
and Heiji has something about 800.
What´s the meaning of them?

Names. 910 (9-10) can be pronounced "ku" "do". Yukiko's license plate is NY: YUK 910, probably intended to be short for "YUKiko Kudou"
Is Kaitou's maybe 9 6 2? That would be "ku" "ro" "ba".
Not familiar enough with the number-words to do Hattori.
You do see it a little bit in the series: 4869 is Sherlock ("shi" "yo" "ro" "ku") and "Holmes" is 4062. (From file 483: Unlocking It!; episode 400: Ran's Suspicions)

I was gonna say the license plate thing, but I wasn't quite sure and didn't want to watch the episode over again >_>
good to see that my suspicion was right though

I'm guessing Hattori would be 8100??
8 = ha
10 = to
0= rei -> ri

Ahh, thanks, I always wanted to know that

(I know shit about Japanese so it´s not a surprise I couldn´t figure that out)

I´ve seen 968... Is 2 really "ba"? I thought it would be 8 because it´s also ba (八) in Chinese...

That would be 810, as far as I remember.

Four can be "yon" or "shi" and seven can be "nana" or "shichi". Eight is "hachi".
Anyway, for the most part, it's right, but just so you know, this is only
one of many counting methods that the Japanese use.

Don't forget futari, mi(tsu), itsu(tsu), which is similar to 2, 3, and 5 respectively.
There are lots of ways to count in japanese.
I wonder how in the world did "ba" be the same as 2 though...

No, they're right, "ba" is eight. I just got mixed up. I really have no idea where I got the idea that "ba" would be 2... I really want to learn all the different number-names so I can play the license-plate game...

You probably made a mistake between "bu" and "ba" (2 is sometimes read "bu")
