I own all of the singles and I plan to buy the box sets for the later episodes eventually, so I chose the closest applicable answer.  8)

I know many people do that, I stick mainly to anime, sometimes if it is one I love, incomplete, or does have an anime then I do read the manga. (kindaichi, conan, DAQ, inubaka, wildlife, FMP)

wow 5 to 4. do people dislike sub online episodes that much, I mean ya it doesn't say detective boys but I mean come on. the subs are correct and they are well done. I personally don't hate the dub, I think the dub is ok.

Yeah, it's currently 6 to 4 and I must agree with this. The dub, while all of the names are changed and such, isn't the worst thing ever. I actually don't mind it and the subs are also on the disks. The prices of these sets are amazing as well. So the prices is right, the subs are well done, and the dub isn't the worst thing ever, so idk why anyone would consider FUNi's Case Closed as trashy...

My plan was always to collect FUNi's releases (even though I watch the fansubs, or rather, especially because I watch fansubs). I didn't realize TMS/FUNi could mess things up as badly as leaving off whole scenes when I made that plan, though. I have all the singles and the "season" 4. I'm having a very hard time motivating myself to buy season 5 as if the quality of the release didn't matter, though.

the dub is the best in season 5 if you discount that cut scene, also if you have seen that scene one, it pretty much sticks with you.
