I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this post but here goes:


So I was re-watching the Clash of Red and Black Arc again (I wanted to hear Shuichi's voice). The first time I saw this arc, I just kept thinking that Detective Conan might end soon. I actually would have thought that after 345 if I didn't know how many episodes would come after. But I'm gonna stop beating around the bush, now.

After 500's "Next Conan's Hint" (I'm talking about the small, funny comments at the end), Shuchi said that we're just passing the HALFWAY mark!!!! I was happy at first that Conan isn't ending anytime soon. But then, it dawned on me that I really don't have any concept of how long 500 episodes is! Does that mean another 12-years of Detective Conan?! I'm not sure how that old DC fans about this.

P.S.
I just have to say, Aoyama-sensei sure is meticulous if wants DC end in 1000 episodes (or another number that's a multiple of 50). But what else is there to expect from a mystery mangaka.

My guess is 2017.

Considering how there are 30 episodes a year now, that means that there would be somewhere between 761 and 790 episodes.

Good enough for the greatest anime of all time if you ask me. Although I wouldn't be surprised if it ends much earlier or much later than that.

I remember when I saw the "halfway" remark while timing and thinking it'd be insane if that became true (despite it being clearly jokey in that context). Unfortunately, we may see the 1000th episode at this rate...

I hope DCTP still exists if Gosho does make DC a 1000 episode series. You guys are the best subbers... EVER!

But I'll be in my late twenties then. oh god. i may not end up finishing the series!!!!!!

for 14years, and even now, people say that Gosho sama is dragging the story too much.

Even if there are 2000+ episodes, I wouldn't mind (as long as it has the same quality of course).

As long as the storyline doesn't die out and there are enough cases out there to solve, I wouldn't mind 1000 eps! I'm only 14 now, so 20 more years is no problem for me haha (:

DC is the only anime I trully cared about. I instantly recognized its amazingness even when I was 10. (That's why I'm so thankful for DCTP for bringing it to me)

I liked DC when I first saw it (I was 10), and I still liked it when I found it here (I'm 18). Unlike other anime that seem to only target a specific age group, I realized DC was a much more grown up series (that, or maybe I didn't grow up at all).

I agree with you! I think that even adults can watch DC, kids wouldn't understand that much actually.

I had a basic idea of the science behind it when I was young. But now, I have a better understanding of it!

You only think that adults watch DC? I can assure that adults definitely do watch DC. (*is 25*).
The age range that Conan appeals to in Japan is 8-40. So yes, adults watch DC. Or at least they read it.
Some, like myself, do both. *^_^*
