Theory on Shinichi's Name and an Association Between Conan a

"Shinichi" in Shinichi Kudo is the only major name in Conan that hasn't been given a official source. Although I have heard of Shinichi Hoshi, a famous writer in short SciFi and mystery novels in Japan and considered him a possible origin for his name, today's discovery just... bridged all things up.
One of the bunch of academic papers that I had to read was from Hoshi University (English version), when I discovered some background about Shinichi Hoshi and his father.
Shinichi Hoshi's father was called Hajime Hoshi.
Some less important points of history that can be skipped: Hajime Hoshi (1873-1951) started a drug factory in 1911 and remained a major OTC manufacturer before and within WWII Japan. After the war, the company's fortune was greatly diminished, and Shinichi, who was in grad school when his father died, was forced to quit to deal with the company on the brink of bankruptcy. He sold the company to the founder of New Otani hotels; the original site of the factory was diminished into a shopping mall, the company became mainly a land-development concern, and he, with a 100,000 yen stipend as an non-executive trustee of the Hoshi University (which was originally the company's internal pharmacy school), went into writing instead.
The main thing I mean here: Shinichi is the son of Hajime? Is it, probably, pointing to the fact that Conan was originally intended to be a spoof of The Kindaichi Case Files etc?
