I'm not sure why but i find them really annoying sometimes :O

Like...they always butt in--in some episodes where they aren't really needed and tag along

Dx anyone else feel this way?

Alot of my favorite cases have the detective boys, they always remind me of Kudu's horror of being a kid again. You gotta remember, we all may know conan as the super sleuth of the show, but everyone see's him as a kid just like the DC kids. But yeah, i like cases that directly involve conan almost revealing his identity to thoses kids or even when he amazes them with his super deduction. But when there just there to fill space in an epsiode it's a drag, and yes, they shouldn't be there sometimes, maybe we should email Gosho Aoyama. Ha Ha.

yeah i agree, some episodes are pretty interesting like when conan got shot XD [sounds like i enjoyed him being shot :O!!!] and the whole ordeal about the caves was pretty interesting :]

I do like them, since they give me a break sometimes when I think I need something light-hearted. Haha, but I do find them annoying sometimes, especially Genta. But all kids are basically annoying...  Conan wouldn't be the same without them. So... cute, but annoying. Lol.

But they are getting better day by day.... now they like a stupid Partner rather than a follower....

PLANE I HATE THE (detective boys) thank god there not showing  in the newest epasodes  i hope thay dont show up in  over 20 or 10  to come  .hope

The Detective Boys never really bothered me. I also love seeing the contrast between Conan/Haibara and the other children.

I always find it hard to believe that Conan who is really a much older, much more responsible character than the kids in the Detective Boys comes upon a scene where a murder takes place or a house filled with booby traps and says, "Let's go in and solve this mystery."  Ran would come upon the same situation and protect the kids over everything, but because Conan looks like a kid, some of the writers must be fooled by the appearance too.  (I say writers because most episodes that have this problem, and in fact use the Detective Boys the most, are anime originals)

i couldnt agree more.
most of the time i find them REALLY...EXTREMELY annoying.
even if there were a reason for them to be in the show its just...
flat out annoying.
but i guess thats what make Conan fits in & the story rolling too.

They're funny most of the time, but i do agree they are annoying sometimes.

I like them, I have no problems with them, they have seen things no other kids their age have

actually, its interesting. reading it @ the moment too.

The detective boys are some of my favourite characters on the show!  I think their childlike, irrational behaviour acts as a great foil for Conan's logical, methodical nature.

As for why he keeps them around, I think it has to do with their friendship, the fact that they can be useful in performing supplementary tasks in solving a case, and finally he doesn't attract nearly as much attention if it's the "Detective Boys" solving cases as opposed to "Edogawa Conan" solving cases.
