Kaitou Kid's father was an international thief.

Carmen Sandiego was an international thief. [You can tell this is going to be crazy]

So here is my theory... Kaitou Kid's mother is really CARMEN SANDIEGO. She ran away leaving a clue to her whereabouts to Kaitou Kid's father.

So naturally Kaitou Kid's father faked his own death to follow said clues. And that is what he has been doing, following the clues to his renegade wife.

Now that they are back together, they have assumed the identities of LUPIN III and FUJIKO! They have continued their work as thieves through that.

Feel free to comment on my theory.

Kaitou Kid's mother is clearly one Hiroshi Agasa. This would, naturally, make his father the budding police officer Juuzou Megure. Just two young, male lovers with a young child they have no idea what to do with... Woe is all, woe is all.

It's sad how often you see this in the news.

But doesn't the show Lupin the 3rd date back prior to Detective Conan, the Carmen Sandiego shows, and Magic Kaitou?

I will have to side with Jd- on this one, cause the only way to make something like that possible is Agasa's time machine.

Let's look at it this way... Lupin started in the 70's Kaitou Kid [Kuroba] is a teenager. Magic Kaitou started in the 80s. TOTALLY plausible. And we only KNEW about Carmen in the 80s, who's to say her antics didn't start prior to that?

Yes, besides... Kid's mother was never really around... At least not that we can see.

Lupin started in the SIXTIES, sir. Please don't misinform the masses.

As for your theory... you're forgetting one Eri Kisaki. You're also forgetting that Shinichi and Kaitou are long-lost twins.

Think about it for a second...

You can't believe that such a devilishly attractive cougar-turned-MILF could actually be faithful to her dumbfuck husband. Besides, all of these people knew each other. Ran, though, is Eri's only daughter--that's fact.

I suspect that Eri is Kaitou's real mother, having met his father through her friend Yukiko. You realize, then, that this would make Shinichi her son as well (because Kaitou and Shinichi are twins, and there's absolutely no going around that).

And there you have it. Let's all hope Shinichi and Ran never get it on, because, well... Ew.

Kyuu-tan's theory suddenly sounds plausible by comparison. 

Actually, I believe that Shinichi is just a clone of Kaito. The truth is, Kaito's detective!self lives in Shinichi, who is the clone. And now this topic makes me wonder one thing. How did she find out about Kaitou Kid?

Two problems with that...

Shinichi and Katio are long lost twins, but their parents are Kuroba Touchi and Kudo Yukiko.

Eri's children are Ran (with Kogoro) and Aoko (with Nakamori Ginzo).

This we all know as fact.

Hakuba and Haibara are twins as well. Their mother is Vermouth. But that has nothing to do with the present conversation...
