whyin english it's called detective conan and not detectiv conan????

because "detective" is the correct English word, "detectiv" is german. Strange question if you ask me.

Nope, "detektiv" is German.

It is detective, because it is build up from detect and -ive. -Ive is a latin suffix.

Btw. it is detective in Spanish as well. o.O

yeah, the word detective  in english and spanish are written identically and i'm from chile
