What cases completely stumped you?

See the topic title. What mysteries in DC could you simply not figure out at all, whether it be who the culprit was or what was the culprit's trick?
Mine are:
The locked bathroom case in Volume 20. (I never would have guessed the solution was as simple as we found out.)
The mermaid case (I actually guessed the elder was the killer, but I never figured, well, you know....)
The case entitled "A Course Without Protest" (Honestly, for me, I actually had to read the deduction like 2 or 3 times before I understood it.)
What were yours?

(not the ones i didn't)
That just means you don't read enough mystery novels... Gosho uses many ideas from other writers, tricks and so fourth. He doesn't completely recycle them, and does put a spin on them in his own way, but it certainly does help. And after a while.... You see the Gosho pattern...
That being said.... Ever since the earlier ones when I first started reading... there aren't many which completely stumped me... Lately I have solved every one before conan did

I'm actually okay with the older cases, maybe it's because some of them were long enough for me to figure it out xD?
I can't remember exactly which cases I had trouble with, but I do recall some of them that frustrated me because they were so simple in the end. The "bloody valentine" case comes to mind. I guess I have problems with cases that are relatively simple becuase I like to over think things (it's fun). I also do a Kogoro "nahhh that can't be it" xD.
Lol that mermaid case, I had no idea what's going on, I wasn't even on the right track.
I think my most embarassing screw up was the case with Ayumi and the dolls. I had no idea what I was thinking at the time xD.

Mine were almost all the riddles and coded messages. I like the murder cases but the most things I hate are the coded messages since they involve mostly the japanese language which I know so little about.

I agree. Only knowing a few japanese words, and none of the letters, I don't bother to try to crack a case involving a code.

Yeah I'm very rarely able to figure out the culprit on my own without just randomly guessing near the start of the episode. The writers on this show do a really good job making it near impossible to figure out.
