I recently learnt that Wakasa Rumi's appearance was based on Arai Terumi from Tell Me A Lie. Firstly, it was just a normal thing, you know, there are lots of characters in the manga like that. But when I thought about it I realised how much it sounds like Araide Rumi. I'm not sure if it's just a coincidence or hint to Araide Tomoaki x Wakasa Rumi. I know they are too random and have a huge age difference (12 years). But Shiratori and Kobayashi-sensei had hundreds of episodes without slightest interaction between them. So it's not that weird to me. And Aoyama-sensei loves making couples met at childhood. It could be as a crush to an older girl. And they would make a cute couple. (Yes, I already shipped them.)

What do you think about it? Is it coincidence or not?

There's no confirmation to that Gosho based Rumi's design on Terumi. It's just a similarity that was picked up by fans (and imo, they aren't that similar, it's just her having long dark hair and glasses).
