I thought about this. It'd be more interesting, IMO, if they go with him not being able to return to his true form, so he's gonna be 10 years younger forever. He and Ran profess their love for each other, and... they'd have to wait until he gets to legal age lol.

I would prefer that no permanent antidote is found, and that Ran also be forcibly shrunk by the BO in another botched attempt to kill a witness to their crimes.
In this scenario, the two of them would grow up together a SECOND time, and this time they would do so alongside Haibara and the Detective Boys. Other than Sonoko, and some people might argue Masumi, the audience cannot really relate or sympathize with any of Shinichi and Ran's high school friends, so "Hey, they got to go to college alongside Asami Tsuburaya!" is kind of a lame consolation prize.
