Sheesh. So all plot episodes get relegated to May, huh?

And we'll have to see if the Apr 15 episode is a pre-story for M21 like "The Shadow Closing on Amuro" was or not.

It seem they want to link April with Heiji hence why the remaster of this episode despite that Heiji has little screentime here but maybe it's a way to remind or introduce audiences to his mother.

The anime is going to be very far from the manga by the time we get to early may. About 1 year and 3 months.

Yeah. If there's so much margin why increase it further? I understand that in April there's the whole promoting the yearly movie but nevertheless they could've stuffed in plot episodes after the movie instead of relegating them to May.

I suppose they'll air a wave of manga-based episodes afterwards hence the gap they're creating.

I can imagine that as well. The three next cases in the manga to be animated are somewhat interconnected. They might want to broadcast them without any anime originals or reruns in between because of that.

855 preview is out on the CR release. Episode looks crap but it has the distinction of featuring Makoto which I believe is a first for an AO episode.
