IMO The series will end if that happens...though I can already tell its not going to happen (if she dies, Conan will not turn back into Shin'ichi again) and I believe that when Gosho said It'll be a happy ending, It'll involve everyone (I want my Takagi x Sato wedding), to be honest, I want Ai to remain with the DB at the end (to enjoy her childhood, and her second life as Haibara)

besides, after the attempt with Akai, It really convinced me he doesn't want to kill any main characters/important characters

Maybe if the writer of DC is either Jun Mochizuki or Gen Urobuchi, then its possible for her to die, but for Gosho...nah not really.
