I came across this today and it made me chuckle. Detective Conan received its first complaint over an accidental reference to something which is not appropriate for children when the show regularly depicts graphic homicide, violence, deception, drugs, extortion, and other adult content like the Ran hot-tub scene.

What gives?

Graphic homicide, violence, deception, drugs and extortion is what you'd expect from a detective show, I guess they weren't expecting it to depict sexual fetish like that sushi thing.

But I do get what you mean, "What are the ethical implications and potential impact on children?" is a stupid and pointless polemic.

It doesn't need a polemic but it's understandable that some people were offended by the mention of a sexual fetish.

I think it's more impressive how it held out for a decade without a single complaint.

People who bitch about this stuff rarely go after anything that's been around for a while, I've noticed.

I wonder how they reacted when the Mountain Village Bandaged Man case aired, since they seem to be going after Conan once every 10 years.
