Does this confirm now that it is indeed two 1-hour specials?

So 2 hours for an AO case? Hopefully it's atleast entertaining. Not sure why they didn't just split this into 4/5 parts to get some episodes stacked up.
Well I guess people might get bored so that's a risk.

I think because it's special, they made them specials.

That's not a terrible attempt at a joke, that's just what I think they're doing.

Previous one is Episode 179-187 which is 9 in a row, now Episode 794 to 805+, at least 12 in a row already.

Yes. Previous longest AO case was the 3 episode one (603-605).

The DC wiki has episodes 806 and 807 as a two part filler entitled 'The Ventriloquist's Illusion' (腹話術氏師の錯覚) set to air january 30 and february 6 respectively :

Although no source is given, the article was set up by this Chukichi guy who's a regular user who lives in Japan (http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki/User:Chukichi) so maybe he got if from a tv program not yet available online.

There's a change for Anime episodes, Jan 30 will be Kamaitachi case

And so the longest AO run of the series comes to an end—1/3 of a year without a manga episode (September 2015–January 2016).

So if it's true that they're going with Kamaitachi on the 30th, that's a what, 12 ep contiguous run of AOs not counting breaks or reruns?

And if not, then it's at least 14... ouch.
