Looks like Kamaitachi (4 Files) will be 799 and 800 or 800 and 801 (2 Episodes)—and Kawanakajima (5 Files) will be right after, with 802–804 or 803–805 (3 Episodes).

We can probably expect more AO-only stretches from March through April and June through July, or at least some point in 2016, due to Gosho's health issues at the same points in 2015.

Imo either they'll have the Mystery Tour case air between the Kamaitachi and the Kawanakajima or they'll push them back after the New Year.

Personally, I'd prefer the first option.

802–805 would be the December episodes, correct? I wouldn't call it unlikely that Kawanakajima would start, or even finish, during December—that's after the 23rd and 28th of November. Of course, since File 916 and File 917 came out in January 2015, the last of the 3 episodes comprising the Kawanakajima files may air in 2016.

It's not the Kawanakajima airing in december that's unlikely, it's them airing 'right after' the Kamaitachi episodes in 2015 that's impossible.

Don't forget that the anime also usually has at least a one week break during the december-january period (for New-Year) where they either air a remaster, something tv-exclusive but made previously (like last year's 'Happy New Year Mouri Kogoro' which was first released exclusively on mobile in april) or simply nothing at all.

One way Kamaitachi and Kawanakajima could go back to back is if Kamaitachi would be 799 and 800 and Kawanakajima would be 801–803—there would have to be no 1-week AO episode break, in that case. If the break started on the 26th, though, then there could be another AO episode.

Overall, it's most likely to be either 2 or 3 weeks, so this time, it could be December 19th–January 2nd or December 26th–January 2nd/January 9th.

If there's a filler on the 28th, and then the two-part Tottori Mystery Tour on the 5th and 12th of December, the record of 9 fillers in a row will be beaten. Hurray.

They'll definitely be pushing back the Kamaitachi and Kawanakajima to 2016 now. As expected.

They had a long stretch of AOs after they did a long string of manga episodes in Season 20 (2011–2012). Is that the current-standing record for # of AOs shown in a row?

Only the super fans care about that. The studio and tv channel probably don't give a damn. I think they might care about episode 1000 but that's it.

No, that were only 8 AO's, the record number of 9 comes from Episodes 179-187 in 2000 (afaik).
