Well, ever since Belmont was introduced, she displayed some strange behavior, keeping secrets. Then when she was having her confrontation with Ai, and as soon as Ran came out, she suddenly became overeager to protect her, trying to get her to move away so she wouldn't get killed and even shooting her own ally to stop him from hurting Ran. Beforehand, instead of killing Conan with her gun, she instead only shot him with his own needle, knowing that he would wake up if she did so. Then when he did wake up and confronted her, she put him to sleep again and fled. Both times, she had a wonderful opportunities to kill him, but didn't.

Later, when they were planning about how to recover Kir, Gin mentioned that one threat couldn't destroy them. But Belmont clearly knew there were two threats, yet she repeatedly directed their minds to the fact Shuuichi was out there, ready to tear them apart, while at the same time, directing their attention away from second bullet, Conan.

The idea behind this? She was in love with Shinichi ever since their meeting back in Amurica, and she also noticed back then that Ran would be ideal for him. This is why she gave her a nickname 'angel'. Shinichi's angel, to be more precise, which she is. Considering she too has feelings for him and knowing she isn't going to make him happy, she instead worked damn hard to protect both him and Ran, who could make him happy, skirting on the edge of BO's knife in order to do so and using Anokata's favoritism towards her to stay alive herself long enough to ensure that both of them are completely safe.

Vermouth is not called Belmont. That's a mistranslation dating back years which thankfully isn't in any of the current subs anymore, to my knowledge.

Actually, Vermouth calls Ran "angel" because she's an angel to her (not because of Shinichi). Vernouth mentioned before she was saved by Ran, that God was never there for her or that there was never an angel to protect her (or something like that, don't remember the exact wording). And then Ran saved her, the first good thing that happened to Vermouth (according to her), so Ran became her angel.

Vermouth definitely favors and likes Ran and Shinichi. Whether she has romantic feeling, we don't really know. (but you can speculate how much you want XD)

Pretty sure she protects Shinichi from the BO because he saved her with Ran, I don't think it has anything to do with love.

After Shuuichi was killed, she said that they only needed one person who could destroy the BO. Which means she would try to protect Conan if he ever were to be killed. With her scooter, she could get there before the executors if he is ever targeted and sabotage the killing of him in some way and then leave silently.

Perhaps, but that doesn't mean she's in love with him. She has her own motives for everything, and we can only guess at them.

It's more likely she calls her 'Angel' because Ran also tried to save her when she was falling.

Sachi has clearly not seen 286-288, to have made up an explanation for what in those episodes is clear as day.
