If BO-related, I'd hope that it would actually connect to the manga original plot, not like the 13th movie, the Raven Chaser.

I mean that the movie should be more like the Episode 345 (sorry I don't know the title in English), not the one-time movie like the Raven Chaser.

NOTHING can affect the manga plot! The movies and TV shows are spin-offs. It doesn't make any sense to end a chapter with: please go watch the movie to see the ending or vice versa.
The most they did was tease (confirm) you with James Black knowing Akai Shuichi is alive as Subaru in movie 18, but that did not effect the manga plot. Plus Akai is Subaru was basically confimed in the Mystery Train Case.

Of course the studio wants to give you the expectation something huge might happen in the next movie, so you'll be hyped and come see it. Watch movie 13's trailers again, they all try to give you the impression the BO knows and stuff is about to happen.
Even if Gin is suspicious, by the end of the film he won't be, or his suspicions will be invalidated so he'll shrug it off and forget about it.

There's nothing bad with expecting a good plot in a movie, some of them do have good plots going on. If you are expecting a plot that will affect the manga or shutter the status quo, you're kinda setting yourself up for a disappointment.
