a question about about 772 were we see a flash back to shinichi and ran at the aquarium

if this suppose to take place a few years back then timeline wise were we see them in a room with everyone mobile phones and assuming this is suppose to take a few yrs back before he got shrunk at tropical land around 96-97 yr then how come we see smart phones as well i know mobile phones around that time were still available but not as widely used as today so how come we see smartphone as well as they were not around the time this takes place so time line is this currently or up to date or taking a few yrs back

Because technology changes but characters don't. Basically, you're supposed to assume that the scenes in the flashback occured around 2013-2014 with the technology from that given time.

so living in world were time and everything that moves around us moves on but characters dont or age etc same applies to the simpsons were real world moves on but characters dont which baffles me sometime that characters dont age or move on but the real world does

also this puts canon as well as another episode a while back were ran see sonoko gets a mobile phone then later on shinichi gets her a mobile phone in the post however in the manga we see that shinichi gets her a phone after she drops in the drain so time line kinda confused

Really? That's ridiculous. I knew that in the DC universe technology changes and the characters don't, but to this point it changed only in accordance to the future, and not the past. Because of this, this case seemed strange. I was expecting to see 90s phones and stuff, and this was just disappointing.

I have a different problem with the case, though. Shinichi explained that the phone got hidden in the man's cap and later explained how the culprit inserted it there. But there's one problem - the weight. I'm pretty sure that anyone would notice that their cap got heavier for some reason.
