How odd. They plan on skipping the aquarium case altogether to air it later? Maybe they want to air Scarlet Showdown as soon as possible. Or maybe they plan on stuffing it after these 2 episodes but it wouldn't make sense because the next chapter is linked to this one.

Just like Ep 421-422 Gingko-Colored First Love, there is no connection before and after the series, so the aquarium case can delay no matter how long.

Thought as much: they want to postpone the aquarium case. Oh well. If that means we get Scarlet earlier then so be it.

Yes! Early Scarlet Showdown. I just felt the technology used in the aquarium case is weird. That case is before the current timeline and yet involves smartphones, when the current timeline started with 90s technology before finally evolving to 2010s tech in recent episodes.

Well, that's comic book time (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/M ... icBookTime) for ya'... timelines become increasingly muddled when said timelines are not the focus of a decades-long work.

This can't work as an excuse for this, though. We are referring to a time PRIOR to the events of the show, in which the technology obviously did not exist. It simply contradicts the reality of how things went back in the first few hundreds of files. This is an inconsistency, plain and simple.

To put in in perspective it is like technology suddenly regressed by twenty years a bit before the current timeline and after some 900 chapters technology has gradually (re-)progressed back the twenty years

I'm excusing it; I'm much more tolerant than others in regards to errors in fiction (depending on your perspective, this is a good or a bad thing–feel free to let loose on me if you think its a bad thing).
The reason I mentioned it was because, eventually, once DC is finished, Gosho or his editors MIGHT–again, MIGHT–decide to establish a timeline, and say that the events of the whole series (Volume 1–Final Volume, minus flashback cases) took place, for example, from March 2013 to June 2014 (again, not saying this will happen) and that the aquarium case took place in December 2012, allowing for the use of modern-day technology and resolving said inconsistency.
Again, the timeline isn't the focus of DC; I don't think Gosho is actively thinking about chronology when he's writing cases–it may very well be that there won't ever be a surefire DC timeline. (I doubt that Gosho wants to redo every case before 2013/2014, for example, to make everything, in general and technologically, consistent with 2013-2014).

If you call this out as an error, you'll get no objections from me.

You're right, and unless a clearly-defined timeline is created and all technological inconsistencies are resolved through redoing of old cases, that's how its going to appear to a lot of readers/viewers.

It would be really amazing if the Scarlet series is aired soon; my dream will come true!
However, I always thought they will delay it until after Movie 19's release... not that fans will watch the former and ignore the latter (or vice versa) ...
Please let us know as soon as the 2 other episodes are confirmed, OP!

@SilverBullet-sama: the 2 next episodes can be guessed already, the case that follows the hospital poisoning. Scarlet will happen in April at the earliest.

It's still uncertain, like after Episode 734 for shrine pickpocket case, it's doing 3 AOs with Takagi appeared before Episode 738-739 where Takagi told Conan about contradiction back to bank robbery case which Benzaki said in Episode 734.

And if Mar 21 and 28 are two-part episodes based on File 891-893, Scarlet Series had 5 chapters, episodes based on File 894-898 will not enough just for Apr 4 and 11. Since Apr 18 is original airdate of Movie 19, on that date could be episode for pre-story of Movie 19 unless anime director stops doing that.

Exactly my thoughts and that is why I am asking and wondering. Of course, it is all possible if they decide to make Scarlet one long special episode. However, even if they decide to do so, they can delay it further, and fill The rest of March/April with AOs. Let's see what they decide to do.
Thank you both.

Spoiler:
Mar 14 Ep 771 ギスギスしたお茶会(後編) The Tense Tea Party (Part 2) (Manga-Based on File 888-890)

This is the episode that will probably have the flash back Amuro has about shiho's mother Elena, and him being called zero or rei
I checked the files and as we all know that each episode is most likely a chapter and half, and the flash back happened in the second chapter which is like every chapter 16 pages, yet the flag back is on page 13.

I am really happy to finally see this episode, so Excited.
