OMG I am too late on this to even comprehend!

I wonder if they were wondering why Ran was zoning out for a minute there when she first met with that couple. Like, it's one of those things where you realize that when needing to flash back to a sequence that the characters are just standing there awkwardly, not saying anything. :P

I was really hoping this was just gonna be a running gag of people collapsing on each other in the bathroom. Until there's just this really strange looking pile of people all unconscious. That would make a great wtf reaction.

OMG SHE HAD AN EYE OPEN. I think there was actually an issue of getting corpses that didn't conveniently always have their eyes closed in the anime, so I'm glad they could get past that. I mean, I guess they didn't have a choice in this case. Maybe someday the victims will stop spilling oil too.

The end of the first part essentially says "Sera, the real star of the series."

So the case could've been super boring but it was made interesting by two main things. 1. It didn't have the same intro as every other case ever. Way too many of the cases have the characters stumble into awkward drama where one person is a clear, soon to be dead asshole (though AOs are far worse at this). Instead, Sera basically gives Ran a job to do and that leads into the case. Simple changes like that make a world of difference as I am vastly more interested in that then the important characters just happening to be in the middle of "situation with characters you'll never see after this #578". 2. I thought it was going too obvious a direction but then that turned out to just be a fake solution to the case made to implicate someone else. That's very clever writing. Might've been a little more clever had there not just happened to be this 10 minutes left in the episode admittedly...

Also, Conan and Ran are back in actually interesting roles. By that I mean, Conan isn't entirely certain of every tiny detail of what's going on in the plot and Ran is actually allowed to do anything at all. Good, more of that please (though to be fair, Conan hasn't be certain of every single thing as much lately, which is good).

Number of songs from 2007 soundtrack: 7

Glad to see your review posts again, slider! I missed those, truth to be told. The forum didn't feel the same.

For reference, there's no plot relevant cases between 742 through 750. Just some stuff with Kid and a funny one with Sato and Takagi. You can watch the stuff on Crunchy without fear of spoilers now.

(Do watch 751-752 first though).

How cool for Juugo's way to punish the culprit. However, if Sonoko ended up the situation like Rumi, perhaps I may laugh at Sonoko being cheated.

Oh yeah, that was great. He just casually elbows the guy and the culprit's on the ground immediately defeated and scared. He had this look of "you worthless hype-er." Awesome.

While I recognize that Sera's brother mystery is pretty unnecessary (and downright horrible as far as what we've seen), technically 744-745 contain some clues to said mystery, so I wouldn't write those episodes off as irrelevant.

I was gonna see the canon episodes in order regardless.

seriously Puto you wanted me to WAIT for Makoto vs. Kid? I waited enough, shame on you. :(

Edit: lol I just realized how rude this sounds considering Puto's role. :V

Not as much as you'd think. I've been doing a lot of what has traditionally been Puto's stuff lately.
