Detective Conan manga creator Gosho Aoyama revealed that there are plans for a major collaboration crossover this fall to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the manga. Aoyama was asked about future collaborations after he discussed his childhood influences and the collaboration with Monkey Punch's thief character Lupin III. That collaboration resulted in 2009's television special Lupin III vs. Detective Conan and last year's Lupin III vs. Detective Conan The Movie.

I don't know if this actually refers to the 'Disappearance of Conan Edogawa' special planned this fall too or if it's something entirely new. The whole thing is rather ambiguous.

If this is indeed another crossover film being released in theaters, I'm tempted to tell TMS : 'Stop over-milking this franchise dry, you may risk killing it'.

So, Its probably Lupin III (agian). Maybe Kindaichi. But the name suggest Haruhi instead.

I'm predicting Kindaichi as well.

It's been a boom year for Kindaichi, what with the restart of the animated series and a new live action series kicking off.

And if the prospective title of the crossover is 'The Disappearance of Edogawa Conan' perhaps we'd need a detective to solve the disappearance?

As long as we don't reach the Toei level of franchise over-milking, I think we're fine.

I still don't get it. "The Disappearance of Conan Edogawa" isn't this crossover, is it ?
