Funny, I would have thought Vermouth would have the Irene role.Fujiwara wrote:XDD
I love that Conan x KID takes place 3. KID is such a pedophile :v
Also, it's not in the pictures below, but Gosho says in an interview in the magazine that the 'Ai' in Haibara Ai actually comes from 'Irene Adler' (jap. Airiin Adoraa).
why not both?Chekhov MacGuffin wrote:Funny, I would have thought Vermouth would have the Irene role.
Because Ai isn't very Irene-like IMO. Maybe the later Holmes fanon changed that but the original was more Vermouthy.kkslider5552000 wrote:why not both?Chekhov MacGuffin wrote:Funny, I would have thought Vermouth would have the Irene role.
It is, but I think Aoyama is allowed to say something different because the V.I. Warshawski bit was actually said by Agasa in story. Aoyama never stated it himself in one of his after volume bits as V.I. Warshawski was used in Volume 12 and Haibara wasn't introduced until Volume 18.usotsuki wrote:I thought it was established that the Ai came from V.I. Warshawski.
On this subject, I've always felt like some of the name origins were a bit... loose, and tacked on after the fact. Some are more clear, but others felt like they were more word associations than direct influences.skyechan wrote:It is, but I think Aoyama is allowed to say something different because the V.I. Both could work, actually. It's not the first time a character name gets multiple allusions/references.usotsuki wrote:I thought it was established that the Ai came from V.I. Warshawski.
