Curious thing I noticed in the dub of Episode 1

Rewatching the first episode on the dub, I noticed something that caught my attention:

About halfway through the episode, after the murder on the roller coaster appears, and Shinichi announces to everyone that what happened is a murder, in the mumbling of the crowd, you can hear a voice say "Shinichi's here."

I wonder what this was-was it the dub scriptwriter making a flub, or did they start writing the scripts for the dub and the forced named changes come later?

"Shinichi is here, he'll solve this."

Oh yes, he definitely will. He's read the manga.

Huh....what a random thing to put in. I assume it's a (far too) subtle shoutout to the original, but maybe at some point they were working on this under the assumption they weren't changing the names.

Well the reason for this was FUNimation wanted to keep the sound effects, music, etc intact, and some sounds had voice overlapping. To correct this many times FUNimation simply looped sounds... seems they missed one.
This happened in the first movie dub too, as well as a few episodes. You can hear people clearly talking Japanese.

That is true. Probably an easter egg.
