PlotHole! Child Voice is always same.

Post by Xmortal »

Shinichi and Ran known since childhood, how can not detect that Conan is Shinichi shrunk? The voices of all children are not alike. And the excuse of the bow tie, no good, because it appeared later.

Everyone who knew Shinichi child, could have detected by the voice that Conan is Shinichi.

Humans do not have that good of a memory for voices. :P

^ What Aly said.
Honestly, it's been 10 years. So unless someone has video recording of Shinichi as a kid or something, no one will ever recognize it :P

Is this why Ran doesn't think that Kaito Kid is Kudo? :P

If there were ample video of Shinichi as a kid and Ran didn't recognize it, that'd be one thing. But relying on her memory to recognize it? I don't think so.

I've seen 3-year old videos of people I've known for years and was shocked at how unrecognisably different their voices were at the time. So yeah, people really don't have a good memory for voices, especially voices that they've heard developing gradually every day.

Does this even need to be a thread? Plus if this is a plot hole than you are missing the HUGE plot hole of Ran not recognizing Conan is Shinichi's younger self, or that when Mouri is sleeping his mouth is not moving, or maybe that there's no drug that can shrink a person back to a kid

While I also don't recognize this as a plot hole, I don't see why it shouldn't be a thread.

Actually, Ran did recognize that in chapter 131

Those aren't really plot holes, especially the latter.

I still remember my friend Ian's voice, who died 9 years ago...
and I rarely watch our home movies. I watch them maybe once a year. Its funny though because Ian sounded identical to Shinichi's voice, just that Ian was american and talked english.

If he died 9 years ago, then you didn't live with his voice gradually developing from that point on. It's a different case.

I guarantee you that if you know somebody who's 17 and play something from when he was 7, you won't recognise his voice right away.

Isn't it a really big leap to go, Okay Shinchi is missing, and this kid looks a lot like him and sounds like he did when he was a kid. SHINCHI must have been turned into a kid!! I mean I think the most magical thing in the series is the whole shrinking bit, what with bones organ and all that shrinking to that of I think a 7yr old? Then again, Ran seems to jump to the supernatural conclusion along with Kazhua pretty quickly so maybe it isn't too far off for her to think it a possibility. However, she would probably dismiss it as crazy like she has before.

Of course that could all change if Akako pulled off some magic in front of her. Might think a wizard turned Shinchi into a kid. :P

Teen voices develop too. Puberty doesn't end until you are a little over age 21.
