UPDATE: Lupin the Third vs. Detective Conan is official. Airing in late March will be a TV special-movie featuring the primary casts of both series, and we'll put everyone from all of our teams to work on it immediately.

The only thing to make this even better... Throw Kaito Kid in there.

To make it beyond epic.... Have Kaito Kid impersonate Shinichi, caught and seized by Ran... Then Aoko comes looking for Kaito Kuroba, spots Ran and him, and insanity ensues while conan gets pulled into the conflict, and Lupin III makes off with the jewel....

EDIT: I felt the need to elaborate on the story...

So.... While this is all happening... Nakamori is off searching for Kaito Kid, and then joins the conflict between Ran, Kaito Kid (as shinichi), Aoko, and Conan. Zenigata met up with Mouri who convinced him earlier to drink some how, and both get drunk. Zenigata, then incapacitated cannot do anything to stop the actual robbery. When the call is made he snaps out of it and resumes his chase of Lupin. At this point KK managed to slip away from Ran and Aoko. Nakamouri once again fooled by KKs ruse starts looking for the white wings of KK, and Conan gives chase. Kaito Kid is then foiled by Lupin's team, and Conan fails to stop either, since he has no idea who to go after....

I don't see why this seems so shocking... after all, a guy wearing a Lupin mask was in Movie 11.

That was two years ago. And a fluke. And the only good part of that movie. And even it wasn't that well done. And oh-my-god this is Conan & Lupin.

UPDATE: Japanese friend translated some bits from it: "A show of Conan VS Lupin is gonna be shown soon as a special Conan show."

UPDATE #2: Japanese friend also said: "The two heroes Conan and Lupin have a great fight for a treasure"

I'm putting this in the "lame ratings seeking gimmick" category.
