Haibara's English voice?

For the new Detective Conan Wii game, Haibara has an English voice actress. Her name is Brina Palencia, and on Wikipedia it is said she voices Haibara for not only the Wii game, but for the Case Closed series. You can hear her voice as Haibara here:

About halfway through, she speaks.

Wow, that's horrible. She sounds like a 14 year old prissy bitch. Â

And not the female version. Someone's balls haven't dropped yet.
*edit*
AHH THAT'S WHY!
That's the same voice she uses for Georgie on Shin-chan!

Oh my god. Wow. I really don't like her voice. I think it might be the voice I hate the most. Or Conan's. Close tie.

I threw together a youtube video that has a few more clips of her voice. It's a little weird at first since she sounds like Georgie, but I started to get used to it as I was editing the clips together.

Still sounds like a 14 prissy bitch boy to me.

Seems like some at Funimation just skimmed a few episodes with Haibara and assumed she was some sort of depressed tomboy and gave her a voice to match. Sad for the people that still watch the dub if they really use this voice for the Case Closed series.

Well, early on that is her personality. She remains a tomboy throughout, losing the "depressed" part, but still. She's a tomboy, not a boy.

Strange, I never got the tomboy feel from Haibara. I have seen a lot of anime tomboys and none wear the clothes Haibara wears(mainly skirts) or routinely read fashion magazines and ask for fashion apparel when the opportunity presents itself. To me Mayumi would be
okay with this voice, still will be horrible but at least it showed that they tried.

Well the thing about Gosho's girls is that they're all a mix of "tomboy" and "girly girl" xD. For example Ayumi only hanged out with guys (before Haibara came along), she runs around being a hero of justice, she loves monster movies and Kaiba Yamen xD. However at the same time she's very self concious of her looks and behavior around Conan, she loves playing with Japanese dolls, loves romantic stories, and she's always dressed very adorably <3.

Well, the Case Closed website is about to sell the fourth season dubbed. 129 is the first of the fifth season, so I guess they are dubbing it soon.

The fourth season dubbed contains episodes 80-105. Based on that, I will guess that the fifth season dubbed will be episodes 106-132 (japanese episodes 100-125) and the sixth season dubbed will be episodes 133-158 (japanese episodes 126-148) or something like that.

ok, I really want to know why they chose the perfect voice actress for Haibara, and than decided to make sure she uses a voice that doesn't fit the character.
I'm starting to think that whoever is the most involved the Conan dub needs to be fired. NOW.

You got a clip of this voice actor using the "perfect" voice for Haibara?
As of now, her voicing anyone from DC seems like a stretch.

Watch 3:07 -3:23. I think with a little more emotion (and less blatant whispering too =P) it would be perfect (her role here had no emotion at all, but that was the point in this case). Of course, I haven't seen that much of the Black Cat dub...
...of course if the voice works but the acting doesn't, it would fit perfectly in the dub!
