My mental image was a bit different...for some reason in my mental image Shiho broke dwn on Ran and told her everything and Ran took pity on her and in the end they decide to share Shinichi...

It can also be switched.  Shiho is oblivious in the kindness and relationship with people since not many people was kind to her in her life ;n;.  She always develop her character through interactions with Ayumi and Ran.  Unknowingly Ayumi and Ran are her "sensei"s.  Conan as well <3.  It's so sweet ;u;!
