Is it really easy for any video to make you go to sleep? That's what you're implying here.chinpokomon wrote:1)in this OP we see a castle that again connect to the whole fairy tale motive in the latest OPs

I don't care how much characters are shown in the OP, when you take a song like nazo you gotta match the video, you can't take scenes like Ran karate class or her and shinichi walking down the street, it's boring and an OP needs to pump the viewer and get him hyped and instead this one is going to make the viewers go to sleep

It could be worse, you could have a username that's 15 years too late to be amusing (i lucked out on Animal Crossing having sequels now that I think about it).
Honestly, I think it's pretty decent. I like the callbacks and animation-wise it fits very well. Also, the version I found on Youtube slowed down the song (because copyright), which adds emotion to the singing where there otherwise isn't.

Uh, the castle a reference to the original Opening... don't you know that?chinpokomon wrote:1)in this OP we see a castle that again connect to the whole fairy tale motive in the latest OPs

So all it takes is those two scenes you don't care for to put you to sleep, even though it has the jumping out the window, Gin and Vodka, Shinichi/Conan running and turning like he did in the original, as well as Shinichi/Conan and Ran talking over the phone. And don't say, "it'll put viewers to sleep" when you're clearly the only one on here who thinks that—anyone who has issue with this version of the song is due to the performer (La Pompon), and their singing pitch. No one but you has commented that this opening is boring.
This opening is only 20 seconds longer than the original—apart from that, it goes beat for beat with the original rendition.
And to be honest, the original didn't exactly have much—someone jumping out the window, Shinichi/Conan approaching them, him in a Holmes outfit, him tranquilizing Kogoro, him and the DBs, him and Ran talking over the phone, and him running through the castle. Besides the animation and the performer, I just don't see how this new rendition could be as bad as you think. In fact, by this logic, the original should be boring as all heck for you, as well.
On YouTube, I just posted Opening 41 with Opening 3 sound:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzvjXKz-URY
I would've posted Opening 41 with a lowered pitch, but I figured it would have the audio muted via copyright claim almost immediately. Speaking of which...
That video must be taken down by now. Even if not, could you give me the link?kkslider5552000 wrote:Also, the version I found on Youtube slowed down the song (because copyright), which adds emotion to the singing where there otherwise isn't.
So, instead, I posted the Opening 41, Lower Pitch video on Dailymotion:

Ah. I hadn't planned on slowing mine down that much. How does mine compare?

They're just a bit irrirating for some reason, especially at the beginning. The voice comes off immature and a bit baby-like at times. But I guess that's to be expected when you have these idols singing the song.DCUniverseAficionado wrote:I think this opening is fantastic—enjoyed every second of it.
I really hope they keep it long enough for the week of January 8th, 2016—it's just too perfect for this song (regardless of performer) to be used for the opening of the DC anime on its 20th year anniversary.
Can you explain, please? If you're referring to Ran in a fairy-tale-like dress, that actually didn't happen in this OP.chinpokomon wrote:what's with the whole fairy tale motive that keep appearing on the DC OP's?
OP 41 is 1:54. OP 3 is 1:34. I'd say OP 41 had more action, by default. You may remember OP 3 differently.chinpokomon wrote:bad... so bad it hurts. the original OP was so full of action and 3\4 of this is so boring it makes me think the OP will be used for memories saga of some sort and then it will be quickly replaced with a new one.
Not sure if you're serious about it "hurting," but have you been hurt by DC things like the Bourbon arc, or other openings? Why is 3/4ths of it boring? OP 3 just featured Shinichi/Conan, Ran and the DBs. OP 41 adds Gin, Vodka, Shiho, Ran's karate senpai, and a bunch students in the karate club from Teitan High. Is it the animation? Is it La Pompon?
Sorry, but I think that's an exaggeration—ear-piercingly, "mute this now!", shrill voices were not what I heard when listening to this. I guess you have a lower threshold for that kind of thing. Would a lower pitch not "almost ruin" this?Wakarimashita wrote:Such a shame that the chipmunk-like voices of these young ladies almost ruin what is otherwise a decent opening.
Also, another thing I wanted to add : I'm kind of sick of these uniform purple/blue/other colour backrounds (like during the phone scene). They're too flashy, repetive, ugly and come off as very lazy. When you look at the original Nazo, even when there is the same backround for 5-10 seconds, it's always something a bit more developed than just one lazy colour on the entire screen. However, I will recognize that it's a bit better here compared to some previous openings where they overused those to death.

Not a fan of the new animation much, eh?MrDetective wrote:One of the best songs with one of the worst clips
What would've made it better, in your eyes?
So it went from developed clips, and mass overuse, to less overuse but under-developed clips? Ah, moderation... it likely would've brought the best of both worlds, here.Wakarimashita wrote:Also, another thing I wanted to add : I'm kind of sick of these uniform purple/blue/other colour backrounds (like during the phone scene). Opening Theme
"Nazo"
Performed by: La PomPon
Lyrics/Music: Miho Komatsu
Arrangement: Masazumi Ozawa
(Being)
The arranger credit matches some of Yuka Saegusa IN db's stuff (e.g., Kumo ni notte).
A composite translation can be taken from the Funi R1s; the extra 2 lines appear there because of TMS error, and are subtitled there.

Re: New Opening Theme Song (OP#41) by La Pompon
I've got to say, as much as I liked the last opening, and as much I love Breakerz, this opening was much more interesting and eye catching than "We Go", but that's just my opinion.
As soon as the opening appeared, I just knew this was going to be a well animated and enjoyable opening. The 3D animated APTX 4869 reminded me a lot of "Revive", though. As for the song, I prefer the original. Nothing beats the classics, however, I would have to agree with some of you here that said that this openings scenes are more interesting to watch than the original.
I'm hoping that they will keep this opening at least until the new year starts, since I really like it. I especially loved the part where they re animated the scene were Conan is running through the abandoned castle, building like place then reaches for the sky (or whatever it is. :p) Man, did they do a brilliant job re animating that scene. I also loved the Shinichi and Ran scene where they were walking through the city. Though, it felt like they were teasing us at that part. :p And I loved the Shinichi and Conan dressed as Holmes scene at the end as well.
I'm glad that there's a new opening. Now I'm just waiting for a new ending theme to appear. As much as I like "Kimi e no uso", it's been running for almost a whole year now. I think it's about time for a new ending theme.

Yes I agree, usually endings don't last as much as openings, but this one lasted a lot more than that.Jecka wrote:Same but omg I never realized how long it's been running. Kimi e no uso will be the longest running ending ever in terms of episode count in just a few weeks.

And honestly, I wouldn't mind if it and "Nazo" lasted until the week of January 8th, 2016 (that week's episode would air on January 10th, since that day is a Saturday)—"Nazo" may have more nostalgia, but "Kimi e no uso" has nostalgia, as well—it's based on the end of one of DC's longest stories, which was made all the way back in 1999/2000 (Files 251–260/Episodes 188–193). They'd be quite the pair for the 20th anniversary.Wakarimashita wrote:Kimi e no uso will be the longest running ending ever in terms of episode count in just a few weeks.
