Episode 777 – The Detective Boys VS the Silver Detectives

Honestly, regardless of what people have said, this already gets bonus points for remembering when Mitsuhiko had a personality. And the Ayumi line is legit pretty funny.

Yeah, I didn't hate this as much as I was expecting to. This is the type of dumb premise I am usually all for, but they quickly decided to just the most obvious murder mystery possible it seems. So it was less hate-able and more disappointingly uninteresting. Meh.

Just watched 779... and I did like it (but I also enjoyed the Scarlet arc), but the animation really irked me in this one. Jodie seemed really... off to me, not to mention some of the other characters (Is it just me or did Camel lose some weight as well). Just in general, it stuck out to me, and not in a positive light. I'd say it's probably mostly the way the eyes were drawn more than anything.
Hopefully I'm not being crazy here :P

That's weird, I thought the animation was better than usual.

Just like in the manga, the case is pretty boring, and the plot characters don't really elevate it (especially Amuro. I've found him to be pretty bland since the beginning).

Not to mention they cut some of the nice dialogues. Also the car Amuro had in the manga it seems was pretty well hidden between the trees (from what I remember) while in the anime it was right on the road pretty visible to the culprit. There's no way for them to be not able to see that car.
Spoiler:
All in all I also consider the manga version much better. Though I must admit that the scene in which Conan took Amuro to a side and asked him if he's the enemy of the bad guys looked kind of cute and better.

I wonder how frightened in the anime Conan will be after learing what Camel said to Jodie. In the manga he had a really nice face expression. As if he just seen a ghost. I hope it will be in the anime well made too.

Yes I also want to see that, that expression was always something I wanted to see in the anime.
Edit:
Spoiler:
The raw episode was released and to be honest, I expected better, but I guess it's good.

In the middle of 780 I came to the realization that this case is about flower circles and check marks. Flower circles and check marks! It's like, Gosho one day found that Americans grade differently than Japan, and thought this was amazing enough to make out of it a case.
I did kinda like that moment Amuro acted like an asshole, but I'm still puzzled why he calls Camel "German".

A note on something from the subs. It's not really a spoiler but it might imply something spoilerific so just to be safe.
Spoiler:
The CR subbers make a reference to the Security Police. Thing is, the real life Security Police (of Japan) has a completely different job than what was described in the episode, so I'm pretty sure it's a mistake and they used the wrong name. The subber may have been confused with the various law enforcement sections of Japan (which are confusing as hell, actually).

Because he doesn't smile =P.
Anyway, while it is hard to me to explain, I actually thought that the comparison fits Camel.

Maybe because he looks like a big, uncivilised brute, or maybe because the name Andre Camel makes it sound like he is from Germany.

That's a bit presumptuous.
“Life is infinitely stranger than anything which the mind of man could invent. We would not dare to conceive the things which are really mere commonplaces of existence. If we could fly out of that window hand in hand, hover over this great city, gently remove the roofs, and and peep in at the queer things which are going on, the strange coincidences, the plannings, the cross-purposes, the wonderful chains of events, working through generations, and leading to the most outre results, it would make all fiction with its conventionalities and foreseen conclusions most stale and unprofitable.”
“Education never ends... it is a series of lessons, with the greatest for the last.”

Episode 779 – The Scarlet Prologue

You know, Amuro would be a lot more threatening if his consistent smiling was used more for situations like a dead person was thrown down stairs.

Ok, I guess she isn't dead. Gosho didn't want to be that cruel I suppose.

Wait wait wait. Conan knew information...and had a non-bs reason for why he would know it. Is this a first or something? :p

I would like to point out that this woman is kinda accusing the victim of being a pedophile. I don't have words...but if nothing else, this comes to mind:

Ok, now Amuro is just messing with Jodie and Camel. This is great, he should act like this ALL the time.

These episodes are so great (like each time Black Org is involved).
Can't wait for the episode 782 (saw the 781 yesterday)!

This is why I actually liked the Scarlet stuff. Actually, I didn't like the end, but we'll get to that later. I have this weird thing about people closing in on finding others'secrets. Kinda like, I like the tension it brings, I guess? I dunno, Like I said, I'm weird.

Anyway, Stuff brought up during the release of these chapters of the manga: JOHNNY BIP!! My favorite actor!
And the extremely awkward timing of this awards showing. Is it in America? If it is, I really wish Gosho thought of that more while he planned this. We could say something like "Time Zones don't exist in this universe" but according to the London arc, they do so... :V
Anyway, not really a big deal, but it doesn't make any sense if you think about it :x
