Just saw it on youtube, it's mostly something new, but there is a scene that is a remake from the original opening, and at least, we see Gin and Vodka at the start.

I saw it too. For those that didn't, NO ROTOSCOPING!

I liked it, way better than I expected. Maybe not enough of regular cast members in it, but still, good stuff.

This thing is riddled with callbacks to old openings (not just the original Nazo but a few others too). So far, I caught these:
- there's the flying APTX from Revive at the start
- there's the walls from the movie OPs
- there's the jumping out of the building from original Nazo
- there's the slitscan logo from munedoki
- the recap to Shin'ichi getting fed the APTX from I can't stop my love for you
- the tunnel from original-nazo but with the reaching-out-to-the-light from I can't stop my love for you
- the conan/shin'ichi dressed up as holmes in front of Big Ben from Step by Step

Such a shame that the chipmunk-like voices of these young ladies almost ruin what is otherwise a decent opening.

I really liked the scene where Shiho appeared, it looked to me that she envied Shinichi and Ran since they had a normal life even though they are the same age.

Some points I would like to add, Puto:Puto wrote:This thing is riddled with callbacks to old openings (not just the original Nazo but a few others too). So far, I caught these:

1. Shinichi never dressed as Holmes in Step by Step (He only appeared together with Conan in the beginning)
2. Step by Step is an ending, not an opening
3. Conan and Shinichi did appear together dressed as Holmes once, but it wasn't in Step by Step, but in the original Nazo.
4. Reaching-out-to-light was in several openings, but never in I Can't Stop My Love For You.

I asked for it on the c-box and I probably wasn't the only one hoping for something like that. Thanks.

You made it better!Puto wrote:Also, I just had to do this. Couldn't help myself =P
As people on IRC already know, I really liked the callbacks to the other Ops(/eds). I like that we get to take a peek into Ran's Karate class because it adds something new/not seen often. The very end made me think of Step by Step too~.

bad... so bad it hurts. the original OP was so full of action and 3\4 of this is so boring it makes me think the OP will be used for memories saga of some sort and then it will be quickly replaced with a new one.
btw
what's with the whole fairy tale motive that keep appearing on the DC OP's? I loved it on miss mystery since it went along well with the music but since then it's been so dumb to stick it every where, seriously Ran is one of the badass character in the story and time after time she's been reduced to nothing more than a princess waiting for prince charming and it's so sad to see it every time, she needs to start kicking shit again!

Re: New Opening Theme Song (OP#41) by La Pompon
I think this opening is fantastic—enjoyed every second of it.
I really hope they keep it long enough for the week of January 8th, 2016—it's just too perfect for this song (regardless of performer) to be used for the opening of the DC anime on its 20th year anniversary.
Not sure if you're serious about it "hurting," but have you been hurt by DC things like the Bourbon arc, or other openings? Why is 3/4ths of it boring? OP 3 just featured Shinichi/Conan, Ran and the DBs. OP 41 adds Gin, Vodka, Shiho, Ran's karate senpai, and a bunch students in the karate club from Teitan High. Is it the animation? Is it La Pompon?

Can you explain, please? If you're referring to Ran in a fairy-tale-like dress, that actually didn't happen in this OP.chinpokomon wrote:what's with the whole fairy tale motive that keep appearing on the DC OP's?
OP 41 is 1:54. OP 3 is 1:34. I'd say OP 41 had more action, by default. You may remember OP 3 differently.chinpokomon wrote:bad... so bad it hurts. the original OP was so full of action and 3\4 of this is so boring it makes me think the OP will be used for memories saga of some sort and then it will be quickly replaced with a new one.

Sorry, but I think that's an exaggeration—ear-piercingly, "mute this now!", shrill voices were not what I heard when listening to this. I guess you have a lower threshold for that kind of thing. Would a lower pitch not "almost ruin" this?Wakarimashita wrote:Such a shame that the chipmunk-like voices of these young ladies almost ruin what is otherwise a decent opening.
“Life is infinitely stranger than anything which the mind of man could invent. We would not dare to conceive the things which are really mere commonplaces of existence. If we could fly out of that window hand in hand, hover over this great city, gently remove the roofs, and and peep in at the queer things which are going on, the strange coincidences, the plannings, the cross-purposes, the wonderful chains of events, working through generations, and leading to the most outre results, it would make all fiction with its conventionalities and foreseen conclusions most stale and unprofitable.”

Re: New Opening Theme Song (OP#41) by La Pompon
1)in this OP we see a castle that again connect to the whole fairy tale motive in the latest OPs
2)by action I mean movement, this OP is so slow without any flow to it compared to OP3 which had the video and song synced perfectly. I don't care how much characters are shown in the OP, when you take a song like nazo you gotta match the video, you can't take scenes like Ran karate class or her and shinichi walking down the street, it's boring and an OP needs to pump the viewer and get him hyped and instead this one is going to make the viewers go to sleep
