Re: Detective Conan Anime Discussion Thread (Latest Subbed Episode: 774)
Episodes 770-771 (The Tense Tea Party)
Skipping Kogoro is how all episodes should start.
Bourbon is just hyping with Conan now, and it's great.
I was expecting an Akai reference solely because the color red was mentioned.
I have to admit the explanation for color changing and lemons made me think "Wow, that's really boring!"
Ok so what's the culprit's motive this time=oh. ...Ooooh. ....
...um...that's...j-jesus...
....well...that horribly sad ending aside, this case wasn't interesting to me. It was fine but I could barely pay attention. It's honestly not one of the worst or even least interesting (even exclusively looking at Gosho's cases), it has some things going for it. I just didn't care.
...I wonder if that ending is implying what I think it is. I'd assume so but I don't remember what vehicle was being used for THAT SCENE.

I agree, I didn't feel that the animation was with good quality, it was a bit lacking.

My dad’s a soldier blue I’ll be a soldier, too
When I grow older you will see me rescue you
I’ll teach you this old song so you can sing along
When I am dead and gone the day won’t be so long.

Yep, good episode
I especially liked the end of the episode :3
Chiba! He's back on that diet I see.
And Takagi and Sato together is the best part of this episode *_*

That cliffhanger at the end of 775 was one of the best cliffhangers we've had in a while in the anime.
Not a fan of the dumb banal nicknames these thieves had.
I mostly liked the episode and it started pretty good. The Kogoro and cops parts were nice. It kinda started to go down a bit with Conan appearing suddenly at the casino, but hopefully 776 is okay too.

But You must admit that for the first time since a long while Conan had fear in his eyesKor wrote:It kinda started to go down a bit with Conan appearing suddenly at the casino, but hopefully 776 is okay too.

Re: Detective Conan Anime Discussion Thread (Latest Subbed Episode: 775)
Kudo Shinichi Aquarium Case
"So Aoyama-sensei, what is Shinichi's first line of dialogue going to be for this case?"
"The smell."
"...excuse me?"
"The first of line of dialogue will be Ran flashing back to Shinichi saying "The Smell.""
"..."
I have to say, thank god for a creative setting. I am just so sick of "LOCKED ROOM APARTMENT!!11!1!" cases. Even by the standards of generic settings it has become so boring...
"It hasn't been a year", sadly the rest of that sentence wasn't "but it feels like it's been 20." :V
Oh yeah, minor thing, but I think my Ran thread would've been harsher had they not at least stopped with Ran being ignorant/in denial of Shinichi's feelings. Unless done really well, I'm really sick of that trope in anime. ...and then I remember "flashback case". God dammit.
Ok, I have a feeling this might not be a popular opinion, but I absolutely loved Shinichi's incredible deduction about Ran. I think that's just about the most over-the-top Shinichi has ever gotten about this sort of deduction based entirely on how someone looks and acts. I mean, yeah, part of me thinks that makes no sense how he figured THAT MUCH out that quickly, even by normal standards. But I just think it went so far that it went past "too smart to be interesting" and into "too smart to not being entertaining."
That being said, I would've preferred if this was a "put Ran's parents back together" plan. I've always liked that part of her character and it annoys me since she genuinely would try crazy schemes like this and wouldn't make it up if she didn't intend to try that. Hopefully the rest of the case does something with that.
I love how he basically says "you're awful at taking videos! Good job!"
YES! The shark opening his mouth facing the camera right before going to credits! That was great. XD
"I'm sure nothing will happen at an amusement park." BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
You know, despite the cliches of it, that ending was actually pretty funny. It was just so...descriptive. :p
I did like this case. Wasn't amazing but it didn't have the slowness a lot of recent cases have during the investigation part. Much more interested in figuring out what was going on than a lot of cases too. Also, better setting and I did like the trick, even if it required some unique circumstances. PHONE IN HAT.
