It would be strange if they broadcast the Department Store Stabbing Case with its Christmas references in January, but I can’t imagine them having no Mystery Tour either.ChappiePete wrote:And they usually have a few weeks break in December, with the last episode being early-mid December, and then re-airing in January, so it'll be one more case and it's more than likely to be the Mystery Tour, with the Department Store case in January.
In 2009 and 2010, they aired episodes on December 26 and December 25, respectively, but haven’t done so ever since, and as this year would be December 24, I don’t know if they even considered what would be the obvious constellation for me: the Mystery Tour on December 3 and December 10, with the Department Store Stabbing Case following on December 17 and December 24. They might as well make a one-hour special out of it and show it on December 17, but I have no idea how likely specials outside anniversaries have become. Should Episode ONE close this year on December 23, which would be my guess at the moment, it might make sense, though. Luckily, whatever it’s eventually going to be, it won’t take long until we know.
Upon seeing the November schedule, I asked myself again why they couldn’t simply bring the first encounter of Ran and Shinichi after the blog case, where it would have belonged. Then, everything could have been postponed for one month, which would have allowed them to give us the Zombie Movie Murder Case around Halloween, and the Girls Band Murder Case in November, without too many anime originals inbetween. Does it really make such a difference to wait for the next sakura season? I don’t think so.
