Because the series is also aimed at kids. You can have Conan and Haibara get shot since the readers know they're teens, but I doubt that having innocent 7 year olds getting hurt will ever happen (for example Ayumi is never hurt physically when she's used as a shield by culprits).

Hum, no. Publishers aim the japanese since they're the ones who buy the huge majority of the manga volumes, even when taking into account the rest of the world. Compared to the japanese market, the american and european manga markets are ridiculously small.

I'm pretty sure that with an anime as well-known and as large as Detective Conan they do take other audiences into consideration.

But she was still seen getting ran over by a car- which means that they have no problem showing somebody harming a child in an anime. If the animators don't have a problem with it- I don't think Gosho does.

Gosho already said it would be happy. In fact, I don't see anyone getting killed or commiting suicide, not even the bad guys. I'm expecting very classic stuff : good guy wins and ends up with his childhood friend, bad guys lose and are arrested, happy ending for everyone and all's well that ends well.

Their only reason to take other audiences into consideration is if they would receive some actual profit from it in some way. If they don't, then they have no reason to. So why would they take the american audience into consideration if Funimation doesn't even produce anymore episodes for the US?
