You say that as if it's a bad thing. I would watch the HELL out of that movie!

Not necessarily a bad thing (though I'm not really interested in Bourbon's and Kir's, especially Kir's, significant others), but from a BO movie I expect some action. Even if they're lovers, I don't think that a good action movie could be from that.
My dad’s a soldier blue I’ll be a soldier, too
When I grow older you will see me rescue you
I’ll teach you this old song so you can sing along
When I am dead and gone the day won’t be so long.

Movie 19 becomes the highest-grossing Conan movie.

¥4.27 billion - Detective Conan: Sunflowers of Inferno (2015) [7 Weeks in Release]
¥4.26 billion - Lupin III vs. Detective Conan (2013)

However Lupin III vs DC remains the most attended with 3.55M admissions against 3.41M for Movie 19.

I didn't expect it to do that well. I guess I vastly underestimated the power (and number) of Kaitou Kid fanbase in Japan.
Well, good for Conan.

Went to watch the movie!
Spoiler: Movie 19 supoiras
For the gross it earned it Japan, it was... quite underwhelming. It's actually a pretty disappointing movie. Maybe it came from my inherent against-Kid bias, but I feel that the writing for this one is quite... whacky. Plot was not the best, and a good 10 minutes was spent on a sudden revelation, neither foreshadowed nor held any importance in the movie. There was no murder this time, so I personally felt the movie lacked suspense. I feel like the character choices for this one was also poor. Only Nakamori (and about 5 minutes of Megure) happened. It also got repetitive with the cycle of "KID'S CARD SAYS SOMETHING" "JIROKICHI USES A *SUPPOSEDLY KID-PROOF THING*" "BUT KID BUSTS IT" repeating itself quite a number of times in the movie. Though I guess there's something cool for MK fans, other than the Kid of course.

Personally I'd put it somewhere with the soccer one. Had a few cool moments, but the movie itself is generally underwhelming. :p

Also Agasa and basically the entire DB and Haibara sorta vanished/had no importance past the second half of the movie.

I wonder if they can hype the next movie enough to top this.

I'm very surprised at my detective skills 8-) .
Spoiler:
As soon as I saw the trailer, I said "Shinichi sounds a lot like Kid..." and to my amazement, http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki ... of_Inferno explains that Kid was disguised as Shinichi. Makes me wonder who the evil Kid is though...

You do know that Kid and Shinichi have the same voice actor, right?

I need to update actually. It's now both the highest grossing and the most attended movie.

¥4.46 billion ($36.9 million) / 3.57 million [F] - Detective Conan: Sunflowers of Inferno (Toho)
